Makes sense to me. No need to keep playing starters and stars in a lost cause, and the subs can use the PT to get better.
But what I think I am hearing is more along the lines of play the subs now, as starters, so they can get ready for 2020.
No. 69/70/75 just paraphrased my last post. I said the exact same thing. I don't see how anyone could take anything different from it.
And Bloomgren must like Greene's abilities a lot if he decided to redshirt him. There's obviously something there worth preserving for the long term. There's already proof that the coaches like him. He has talent.

What I heard was that he should play Greene even if Harvard is better now, to prepare Greene for future years.
I would presume what is good for QB is good for other positions too.
But it appears I misheard what you said, and we are all on the same page.

BTW it's Green, not Greene. Greene (Jack) was a starting OL last year but no longer is on the roster this season.

He should give Green meaningful playing time, not start him ahead of a better player. We're on the same page.

Yep. If the knowledgeable people ore right, there should be plenty of garbage time available. And too, if we have that much garbage time, maybe try a new starter.
It will be interesting to see who is the starter for the first game. And the fourth. and the eighth.

RE: Some football schedule notes
One thing that I don't think is being considered here. The quality of opposition in our first four games is way, way higher than in our last eight. If we make it through the first four 0-4 but reasonably healthy, we could possibly win out. I'm thinking now that we may very well start 0-4 but split the last 8 to go 4-8.

Green did not go to media day, your “GUY” always goes to media day. Harvard can’t run and can pass when he has time. Not a lot of time back there. He should be here for depth.. Green May start but Marshman will get packages he can throw on the run and run. If Marshman plays like he did at FIU, without injury...that’s the “GUY”

We may not win any, but the QB situation will keep the year interesting.

Who was our GUY who was brought to the media day?
(Apology in advance: I've been busy with other things; not paying much attention here.)

No problem the airwaves will be filled with non-Rice football.
But, yes, I was referring to Rice football news, and later, games.

I'll be getting together again with some Army friends to watch the carnage together. Last time it was over before a few got to the sports bar. Hope we can last a bit longer this time.
