Question New baseball projections
The Conference USA race got more interesting last weekend when Louisiana Tech beat Florida Atlantic and Southern Mississippi lost at Florida International. The standings are unchanged, ultimately, with FAU leading Southern Miss and LaTech, but it was enough to move LaTech into the field. The Bulldogs have the best RPI of the trio and are compiling a solid resume. Both FAU and Southern Miss are running short on margin for error, but they can still compile compelling at-large cases with solid finishes, especially if they can add a regular season title to their resume. Overall, the conference is looking pretty good as a two-bid league.

Tech is a 3 seed in the Starkville regional
USM is a 3 seed in the Atlanta regional

RE: New baseball projections
Unless USM can figure out how to hit and avoid making fielding errors we aren't going past day 2 of the CUSA tournament. Recent game performances:

4/16 @ South Alabama - scored 1 run, struck out 17 times, made 3 errors
4/13 @ FIU - gave up 11 earned runs, struck out 10 times, made 3 errors
4/12 @ FIU - struck out 18 times, allowed 13 hits
4/9 vs Ole Miss - scored 2 runs, struck out 10 times, walked 7 batters, made 3 errors
4/6 vs Marshall - gave up 10 earned runs
4/2 vs South Alabama - allowed 11 earned runs, walked 11, made 6 errors, outscored 15-1 after taking a 5-0 1st inning lead

On the season we've made 54 errors through 34 games. Last year we had 65 errors in 62 games.

We will have to win the conference tournament to get in.
