RE: Open Borders and Medicare for All
That's the thing about pyramid schemes, they never hold up under scrutiny.

I'm going to keep quoting this in every medicaid 4 all thread, until a resident alt-leftist is brave enough to take it on.

Push for it in your states (preferably for your LEGAL CITIZENS, but that's your business), and stop trying to con the entire country into your schemes where we are obligated to pay for you and the entire world if they are able to hop the border that you intentionally keep us for securing. I'd still be against it, but I wouldn't have any worries as it would likely never gain any traction in a state like Texas. If it did, I would be gone.

The failed democratic candidate for governor in Florida admitted that he needed other states to get on board to help pay for the single payer system he was proposing for Florida, meaning he knows the expenses would be >100% of the possible revenue. Take that "plan" to it's logical conclusion. The states that pick up the slack for Florida, who picks up the slack for them?

Your plan isn't a plan, it's a PYRAMID SCHEME.

Newsflash for medicaid 4 all supporters, the average medicare recipient takes out 4x what they pay in. Explain the math behind that if the entire country is on such a system. It would be even worse if you give it to everyone up front, and don't make them pay in for 40 years before drawing benefits.

The Hill says this polls at 13% when you explain it beyond the bumper sticker slogan that both a) your taxes will go up, and b) private insurance is banned.

It's truly a con job. Bernie's con in attempt to get seniors on board (who would undoubtedly run, not walk from this crap) is to offer dental and long term care. The hospital trust fund is already running out of money, and he wants to EXPAND benefits. Lunatic.

You don’t fund it, at least, not in real-life. Instead you just keep adding to the deficit/nat’l. debt. If/When the house-of-cards comes crashing down, blame some combination of “Republicans”/“supply-siders”/“right-wing extremists”/etc. and start over.

You have some babies and then make them pay for it all out of a tax on their work....

Wait, that's SSI, and it's a giant pile of steaming shite, too.

By relying on the United States to provide for the bulk of their national defense.

You know, the thing you leftists have been attacking Donald Trump over by saying he is trying to destroy NATO because he wants the Eurocucks to contribute more towards their own defense?

You left out the other things Americans also pay for. You know, insignificant little things like medical research, technology research, humanitarian aid, and much of the world’s artistic endeavors. I’m sure the world would be perfectly willing and happy to see us put all that stuff aside so we could spend the money on imitating their even less perfect healthcare systems.

Seriously, are baby boomers living that long after retirement that as a whole they take out more than they've paid in? On average how long does it take an individual to rake in more than he put in?

I'm sure the Bernie/AOC simpletons would just say "tax the rich" or make "corporations pay their fair share". Sure it would completely destroy the economy and our society in general, but we'd all have healthcare!!

Seriously, raising taxes or adding debt will only allow you to get so far then it becomes unrealistic. After that, the ONLY way is to lower costs, ie: limit services. Sorry, you're 65 years old and that knee replacement isn't cost effective. 70 and have cancer? It's cheaper to drug you up and let you die than it is to treat you... Tough luck.

Perhaps we could turn it into a game show, maybe call it something cute like Carousel!!!

You know, the thing you leftists have been attacking Donald Trump over by saying he is trying to destroy NATO because he wants the Eurocucks to contribute more towards their own defense?

And by taxing the crap out of the middle class. There simply are not enough "wealthy" to pay the cost of these expensive programs, and if you try to stick it to them, you get massive capital flight. That's what happened to Europe in the 1960s and 1970s

Much has been made of Sweden't top tax rate of 60%. Little or nothing has been said about the fact that their system is less "progressive" than ours, by any reasonably objective standard. They start at 35%, go to 55% at the equivalent of US$50,000 of income, and hit that top rate of 60% at roughly US$75,000. And they don't have itemized personal deductions. So if you're making $55,000, you're already paying over half your marginal income in taxes. Not to mention social security and consumption taxes. And their corporate rate (22%) is less than ours when state taxes are included.
