I don't know man, if things don't change, looks like Cal is going to have a spectacular class and we will have an above average class.

I think the blue chips want to see what Penny does this season before Memphis becomes a go-to destination.

Earnest Smith had many of the same qualities/deficiencies as Moore. But he was a vital part of E8 team that Penny was on; PH realizes you need role players who don’t need the ball to succeed.

true... but Earnest played the 2, and was a spectacular athlete. Moore plays the 4, needs to learn the 3, and is a good athlete and looks very strong, but does not have near the quickness or hops the B-Train had.

That said, i'd like to sign Moore.

me too

Penny remembers all too well what the Bearcats did to us 4 times in one year because he lived it...

If we have Dandridge, Thomas, Stokes and Moore, nobody is going to out-tough us like we've seen so many times before

I think this is one of the biggest attributes Penny brings. He's tough. He expects our players to be tough. He talks about it. He coaches it. HUGE imo

It looks like Moore is athletic enough to guard a 3...Strong and athletic enough to rebound at a high level.

As long as you have other shooters on the floor with him he should not hurt our offense and defensively he should be fine.

People need to remember there are only so many high school bigs who can handle, shoot and are athletic. Most non elite prospects are going to be missing some skills.

And ultimately you need role players. Guys that understand exactly what their role on the team is and then go out and play their hardest to fulfill their role to help win are invaluable to building a championship roster.

You're thinking Billy, not Ernest. Ernest played 3 and sometimes the 4 when Coach Finch wanted all out pressure. 07-coffee3

Actually Earnest started on the E8 team most of the 2cd half of season and was a true lock down defender. Shut Todd Day down a couple of times. Great defensive fundamentals and wasn’t afraid of mixing it up despite his relatively small frame.

1,100 point scorer and his scoring average went down when Vaughn and Penny joined the team but he embraced his role.
