Exclamation Troy Loses Another To The Transfer Portal
This time, Daniel Crowell. He was a reserve receiver, but had potential. 4 Star guy out of high school with offers to Ohio State and Ole Miss. Committed to Ole Miss and went JUCO to EMCC. Ended up at Troy last season with three to play. He is now in the transfer portal.

Unlike Marcus Jones and Tron Folsom, he wasn't expected to play much this year.

With the two stud JUCO WR's playing unbelievable this spring, I think he saw the writing on the wall and wants to find playing time somewhere.

Everyone remember the name Reggie Todd. He MAY just be the best WR in the Sun Belt next season.

Haven't heard much about Khalil yet. Would be boss if they both were as good as advertised.

My old college coach use to say: “I think we have a bunch of 4 O’clock superstars. We are just a little shy of game day stars.”[/align]

Too early to tell. It's spring, as others have noted. It is worth nothing that he is 6'5", a former 4-Star guy. He seems to be playing well in practice. What I'm most excited about is the insane amount of height / length we have on the roster this year:

Wide Receivers 6'0 and over, current roster included:

6'5 - Reggie Todd
6'4 - Khalil McClain
6'4 - Jaden Warren
6'4 - Richard Hallman
6'3 - Demontrez Brown
6'2 - Luke Whittemore
6'2 - Chris Robinson
6'2 - Johnathan Ortner
6'1 - Daniel Crowell (now in transfer portal)
6'1 - Tre Eafford

Tight Ends 6'0 and over, current roster included:

6'5 - Trey Coryell
6'4 - Tre Ross
6'3 - A.J. Lewis
6'2 - Sam Letton

Running Backs 6'0 and over, current roster included:

6'1 - Charles Strong
6'0 - Trevon Woolfolk

Quarterbacks 6'0 and over, current roster included:

6'5 - Jacob Free
6'3 - Sawyer Smith
6'3 - Gunnar Watson
6'3 - Kade Young
6'2 - Gavin Screws
6'1 - Kaleb Barker

Interesting that every player that is the tallest at his position was previously at a P5 program.

Reggie Todd - Mississippi State
Trey Coryell - West Virginia
Charles Strong - Texas A&M
Jacob Free - Vanderbilt

Yes indeed. The Jags' sophomore quarterback, Cephus Johnson, played lights out (as a freshman) in last year's spring game, but come gametime in the fall, not so much. The one game he started did not go well for him. in the recent spring game he shined and was head and shoulders ahead of the other qbs. We'll see what happens when/if he starts at Nebraska.

He certainly has a chance to be good, but unless you're there in person everyday and can see an extremely significant talent discrepancy between he and everyone else on the field, it would be very hard to predict his success in the fall.
