Yeah, most people in Criminal Justice at UC aren't in it for Policing, they're in it for Policy and Corrections. Oddly enough, Cincinnati is a Top 10 Criminal Justice program in the country...
Whereas Miami has historically had enough trouble keeping their own on the straight and narrow.
Is Brooks a Criminal Justice major?

If that screen-cap is of his final grades, then yes, he would have to be.

Is the undergraduate Criminal Justice program ranked, or just the graduate?
30 years ago, the undergrad Criminal Justice classes could be aced by any relatively intelligent high school sophomore. No idea what it is like today.

Oh, it's still like that...it always will be, most Criminal Justice topics are pretty cut and dry.
And the when people typically refer to program rankings, they are referring to the "Graduate rankings", which can normally be extrapolated to other levels, as most undergraduate programs do not have rankings of their own.

RE: Brooks
One FSU fan's opinion.
Quote:Nysier Brooks is a Cincinnati transfer that arguably should’ve stayed at Cincinnati. He’s played a similar amount of minutes, and started every game his junior season at Cincy, yet his metrics have gotten much worse after transferring and sitting out a year. He’s negative on the floor and on offense, but because they funnel everything into him on defense, his defensive metrics aren’t terrible, being one of the few players with a positive defensive rating.

I never understood his transfer. Even if he wasn't totally comfortable with the new staff he could have finished with Jarron and Tre who he'd been with for 4 years. He was already old for his class so sitting out a year just delayed his professional career. If I were advising him I would have told him if he weren't comfortable with the new staff then his best move would have been to go overseas and start his professional career vs. transferring and delaying it 2 years.

I mean, he went to a phenomenal academic school to receive a graduate degree...if you're going to have to learn a new system anyways, that isn't necessarily a bad personal choice. Maybe his whole comment about finding an educational opportunity wasn't hogwash.

I understand but I believe Brooks was probably good enough to earn 6 figures overseas. Those two years of earning he gave up are worth more than the scholarship. He could have played and put money away to pay for a graduate degree or played and then came back as a grad assistant if he wanted the education to be paid for.

A thread with its last post in May 2019? Man, that is a deep dive.

RE: Brooks
I thought Brooks was a very effective player for us. Was not at all clumsy by big man standards, made his free throws, played hard, and defended the rim. I was bummed when he left. I wonder if he regrets it now.

His rate stats are similar to his last year at UC in every category. Nothing has changed about his game, so we will see if your hypothesis is correct after this season.

Sounds pretty good.
I got another 10 inches of powder yesterday. Gotta love lake effect. Forecast called for a chance of flurries.

RE: Brooks
It’s the Red Green Show every day around here.
The upside is suburban Moms don’t all run to clear the shelves at Kroger when the le Morte Blanche is forecast by the weather guy tooling for ratings.
A foot of snow on the ground is just a Thursday and people know how to drive in it. It’s no big thang.

That might be a generous assessment. 60% ft shooter plagued by foul trouble in big games. That said, can't have enough big guys unless your UK. LOL

I've watched a few minutes of a couple Miami games. Brooks is an afterthought in their offense. Wish he'd have stayed here, but hard to blame him.

Then he went to the wrong school.
FSU ain't "on the beach." It's 45 minutes away from any beach, and those are Florida's crappiest beaches. It's almost 2 hours away from a decent beach.
