Yes he had a face to face meeting and he has been at practice the last two days. The fact he actually put his name in the portal im saying hes gone. ppl can hold out hope, but at this point you have to plan for the fact he is gone. Carl says Lojo is leaving too, hes been right now both times(obviously small sample size) but nonetheless hes still perfect.

He isn't going anywhere. No grad transfer, no way.
No way this kid sits out a year then plays ONE single final season somewhere else UNLESS we are talking Mick at UCLA. That's the only thing that I could see happening.
Edit: Although, didn't Buford do just this? Transfer and sit out a year only to play one year.
eh, maybe he is gone lol

yeah, that's true....gets him home and maybe his stats will be better playing in a lessor conference. He'll be what, 24 or 25 by then but whatever.

He's originally from Dallas and Houston plays a very similar brand of basketball as Mick likes to play. Their center just graduated as well. I doubt Brooks would go to St. Johns, they are a disaster. I'd bet he wants to go to a team the will make the NCAA tournament and he has the talent to play for one.
As for sitting a year, I think there's a good chance he could get a waiver due to Cronin leaving and be eligible immediately.

If he goes, he goes.
If he talked to coach and it just doesn't feel 'right' and he wants out, no problems. Hate to lose him, but this is part of a coaching change.

Could be style, Brooks was very well suited to Cronin's style and offensive rebounding is where he was most dominant. A more running, fluid style doesn't give him the opportunity to get position for offensive rebounds. Also we seem to be in good shape to make the NCAA tournament, but Brannen doesn't have the proven track record of other coaches (yet). If he can go to a big time school it might also help him show he can compete at the top level and catch the eyes of NBA scouts.

Only player that will be difficult to replace will be Cumberland. Everyone else is a role player or system player. Some better than others but I wouldn’t build a team around them. Cumberland is a stud. Grad transfers and new recruits can fill in gap. Need to get more top 100-150 level players plus impact transfers. Build a team that thrives in modern basketball and drives up thier analytics for the best seed possible.

Why would Houston entertain this for one year? If Brooks leaves he will be playing in some lesser conf /division for one year. I doubt Mick even takes him.

RE: Brooks
Brooks has three current video stories on his instagram 1) 14 hours ago he is on Fifth Third Court under the basket I guess shooting ; only other person appears to be a manager with him. 2) 2 hours ago one of Dahmir Bishop an Xavier commit who he calls little bro...he is from Philadelphia 3) another one 2 hours ago showing David Beatty of Lasalle ...another Philadelphia school but I would doubt that would be a destination for him.

Because Brooks is an excellent player. His conference offensive rebounding percentage of 15.5% would have been good enough to put him in a tie for 7th in the country if he'd maintained it all year, which he can almost certainly do next year. Brooks has a very good chance of being the best center in the American next year if he stays. He's also a major force on defensive, mobile enough to guard most positions and blocks shots. Looking at the improved version of him late in the season and what he can become next year, many teams would definitely want him.

Same guy (Corryville Carl) who last night said Brooks would be entering his name in the transfer portal before noon today, also says Johnson is going to transfer. Corryville Carl is 2-2 at his predictions, not a huge sample size, but accurate so far.

He always seemed to be a Mick guy, but based off the opportunity he would have here next year I was hoping he would stay. He seems perfect for what Brannen would be looking for, athletic PG with some length who should be good at defending full court and also pushing the ball on offense.
Oh well, hope he changes his mind. I hope these transfers won’t affect Cumberland’s decision. Also hope we can get out any recruit quickly. Looks like we are going to have a lot of scholarships open over the next 2 years.

If he transfers it won't be in conference. Unless Nova needs a big guy but the offense they play is even less suited for a big kid with his back to the hoop. St. Joes's in the A10, be a step down in competition. Time will tell, he's still not listed in the portal, at least on this list which is typically up to date pretty quickly:

The interesting thing about this transfer portal is basically you give a school the option to basically give your scholly to someone else once you hit the portal from the way i read it. I could be wrong, but there's no obligation for the school to keep anything open for you if you decide to return.

Not sure what goes through these kids heads. But you can be the starting center for a top 10-15 team under a more dynamic offense, or sit out your senior year and go play for some team like LaSalle. At this point I am pretty much thinking next year is just going to suck, as I dont see us having Brooks, Cumberland, Curtis, or Johnson next year. It will get worse before it gets bettee unfortunately.
