According to US News and World Report, Alabama, along with Louisiana, are the two worst states to live.

RE: Brannen's staff
Was curious if anyone has seen any updates in regards to DerMarr Johnson?
I know he graduated this Spring, therefore he can not be a graduate assistant like previous years?
Saw he posted video working out with Mamoudou in the practice gym.
Would love to have him on the staff.

RE: Brannen's staff
That's a good question about DerMarr. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure a head coach is only allowed 3 assistant bench coaches, as well as a 4th assistant who doesn't recruit. Those positions are already filled on this staff, although I haven't heard anything about Brannen hiring a video coordinator. I don't know if there is a limit on graduate assistants, but did DerMarr receive his Bachelor's or a Graduate degree? If he wants to go to grad school, I think he could continue being a graduate assistant. Also, any word on JaQuon Parker's status with the new staff?

Maybe Chad Brendel could shed some light on the status of DerMarr and JaQuon. Sending out the bat signal...

Some interesting tidbits on Alex Meacham's twitter site if you have the patience to scroll down far enough to notes on today's practice. Dude post a lot of stuff:
https://twitter.com/Alex_Meacham
"At one point during practice Brannen yelled,”if you are not in elite condition, you will not be able to play this brand of basketball. This will be a pro style system!” Intensity then picks up....#Bearcats"

Thanks for the recommendation and link...here's the summary for the lazy but don't let that stop you from giving Meach a follow if you have an account.
Love the basketball excitement and talk in June. The self-proclaimed Chris McNeil-Bradley Beal comparison is going to give Skyblade a conniption.

Sky has been in a constant state of conniption since Mick left.
Pretty much every other Bearcat fan I know is VERY excited for the 2019-2020 season. The response to Mike Bohn's announcements on Monday's Riverboat cruise confirm this. Sky appears to be more of a Cronin fan than a Bearcat fan. I'm sure he's already registered for several UCLA message boards.

If Jarron averages 40 points this year... that's fine with me.

Yep, I was undecided on Mick while he was here but now that he is gone and we can see this with someone else running things, I'm very happy about the change. Glad Mick is gone, and JB is here.

Happy for Mick that he got his "blue Chip" program. Happy we have Brannon, who thinks UC has been one and can be one again. I Meacham's tweets get me really excited about Brannon's style of play. I love the "elite condition" comment. I'm sure all coaches preach this stuff but it sounds like Brannon has the ability to back it.

Out of fairness to Mick's memory, I think we have to wait for Brannen's on-court product before reaching any firm conclusion, but I'm very optimistic so far.

Any chance us out of towners could get a summary of his comments and the attitude from the cruise? I always loved attending that when I could to get a pulse on the state of UC athletics.

RE: Brannen's staff
Mike introduced FB, WBB, BaseB coaches and a handful of student athletes. He ran down their amazing accomplishments, noting that UC was one of very few schools that can boast of such a record. Although CJB had been on the boat earlier he had to entertain a recruit on campus that evening and left before the boat departed. Mike talked about all of the exciting things ahead with him leading MBB and our incoming FB recruiting class. He also noted that our FB schedule has several high profile games with national TV coverage. It was just a real positive, upbeat but no BS take on the current state of UC Athletics. The UCATS aboard responded enthusiastically. It was great crowd, quite a bit larger than last year by my estimate.
