Who we will get to fill out roster
I don’t see us signing that many in 2020 if this plays out

I hope we get some 2020 guys. That class is better than 2019 class.

Right now, we have room for 4, if Boyce stays off scholly, and Jayden becomes a walk-on.

Wiseman will be one and done. We probably sign Hampton, and he will be one and done. Watford and/or Achiuwa might be, although it would be iffy. Maybe 2 for them.

Even if we only lose Wiseman and Hampton, we will have room for 3 (those 2 + Maurice) or 4 in 2020, and that's not counting any transfers, and assumes we sign 4 more now.

For 2020, we are in prime position with both Jalen Green and Matthew Murrell, so that's a great start, and still leaves us 1 or 2 more spots, minimum, without transfers. All JMO, of course.

You can’t keep players happy like that.

Calipari did it for years at UK. And all you were originally talking about was that we shouldn't take both Watford and Achiuwa.

All I said was if both want to come, then take them. Penny's not going to turn one away b/c he's afraid he can't keep everybody happy.

RE: Who we will get to fill out roster
Cal never had 14 or 15 players thinking they deserved playing time. Maybe 10 or 11.

Wait, at first you said Achiuwa and Watford, now you're saying 14 or 15 players. They aren't all equal.

1st tier: Wiseman and Hampton
2nd tier: Achiuwa, Watford, Thomas, Quinones
3rd tier: Harris, Lomax, Dandridge, Baugh, (Maurice)
4th tier: Wingett, Boyce
5th tier: Hardaway

That's assuming we get all 4 targets, which is unlikely. But anyway, the top 3 tiers are 11 guys, and it doesn't matter about making Maurice happy, b/c he's a senior.

The other 10 will get minutes in the rotation. Whether we take both Achiuwa and Watford, I just don't see what the problem is.

Penny has already said he wants to play fast, and 10 deep. Wiseman and Hampton will get 30+ minutes. Second tier will likely get 20 minutes each and the 3rd tier about 15 minutes. Maurice probably won't play much unless we have a lot of foul trouble, assuming we have all of JW, LT, MD, TW and PA in the front court.

They'll be fine if they all get drafted.

Jeffries is the unknown in this situation. Hes rose and fallen many times in the recruit rankings it's hard to judge by us fans. By outsiders they saw Calipari recruiting over him when he was committed to Kentucky so naturally even some of us are wait and see how he will play. Hes talented for sure but oddly hes not discussed much . He had shooting and handle issues that were prominent early but may have corrected those enough to affect his college intro. Hes just hard to judge until he plays on the college level.

Yeah. The main issue is we dont know how much of a perimeter player he is.

DJ projects as a 2 or 3 in the pros. He will likely go early, but I don't think after one year. He just doesn't look ready. Motor is on and off, outside shot is suspect, handle could be better, etc. JMO.

I think the question is where does he fit in your tiers - he's left off.
