RE: More changes?
The NCAA will vote this Friday on whether to penalize schools that take grad transfers. NCAA considering counting a grad transfer scholarship against a school for 2 years even though the transfer can play only 1 year.

I really hope they do this. The grad transfer rule really is hurting us this year. Would a team be willing to give up 2 years of scholarships to get one year out of Rayjon? Possibly. But, most consider him the best graduate transfer available. It will be a rarity for us to have a graduate who is that good. I doubt a team would have taken DeAndre under those circumstances. Looking it from our side, I could see us giving up 2 years of scholarships to get a solid P5 player for one year. Doubt we would have done that for Dani Koljani, although I think he was a nice addition for his one season.

This new rule would benefit midmajors, something the NCAA rarely does. Maybe if the midmajor conferences stick together on this it can get passed.

I am with you. That is an idea that has gotten totally out of hand.

Read the article again and it seems an exception will be made if the athlete completes his post graduate degree in 1 year.

Yes. That is the point- if they are doing it to "really" get a graduate degree I am fine with it. Although the original rule said "they could only transfer to a school which had the degree they wanted, if that degree was not offered at their original school". No one has followed that- it is a total farce.
