Hitting wise the thing that jumps out the most is FIU's team batting avg of .232 but they can hit the long ball. They have 4 players with 5+ HRs each but 2 of those 4 are hitting .227 and .173. The only regular to not hit a HR though (#6 Shenton) leads them in SB with 10 in 13 attempts. We get more base on balls but at the same time we leave a ton more on base than they do.
On the pitching side they are similar to us in ERA but they do strike more out and walk more than us. Their Friday pitcher #2 Allen seems legit on paper with his 1.48 ERA in 8 starts and 48 IP. He's struck out 72 with 18 walks and a .165 avg against. His 72 Ks tops C-USA and is ranked 11th nationally. However, in his last 2 games (vs FAU 4 runs, 5 K, 3 BB, and lost 7-1) and at Rice (3 R, 6 K, 4 BB, and lost 8-5) he lasted 6 innings each game and FIU allowed 15 total runs in those 2 games. Relief pitching wise their closer #36 Figueroa has been dominant in his 15 appearances going 15.1 IP, 3 saves, 0.59 ERA, 1 run, 14 K and 8 BB. They also have two Guidry type defenders in SS #7 Rodriguez who has 10 errors but hasn't played recently along with 3B #6 Shenton who has 7 errors.
FIU's stadium is about par for the course in size as it's 325 down the lines, 375 in the alleys and 400 to center.
