Interesting reading. I wonder if that one jerk is the cause for the Athletic Department scoring so low in the attitude survey. Obviously a 20 women gymnastic team could drive statistical significance all by themselves if they all have similar negative opinions. Anybody know why or at least have a theory as to why Nielsen would defend this guy. An employee using a master key to get into somebody’s office for no good business reason should be fired just for that.

Hi AlphaFlash and Burden,

AlphaFlash, in sake of full disclosure, I admit that I was "on to something" because I have been working with a group of multiple donors, former coaches, student athletes and staff members to put together the documents and interviews with key witnesses to share these stories that we hope will inspire some change.

We have done little to no promotion short of just sharing on our personal social media pages, and we've already had nearly 8,000 views of the website.

Former athletes, coaches and staff have been sharing their own stories and also confirming and adding more context to what we have posted.

Burden, I might be able to answer your question about the Climate Study. There is no doubt that the study reflects Joel Nielsen's leadership (or lack of leadership). The department's survey was of athletic department employees (coaches, staff, administrators), and there was a lot of hope at the time that telling the true story of the department would force university leaders to take notice.

Instead, President Warren chose to give Nielsen a contract extension even after the results of the study were known. That made a discouraging situation even worse.

Joel must’ve needed an excuse for an all-expenses paid trip out there...
