I do not really see the momentum part of it. NIU was a .500 conference team in a season that should have been a culmination of the better talent the program has seen in some time. And now you lose some of your best producers. The one thing NIU has going , which is no creation of Monty, is a much more favorable MAC landscape going into next season. Every game is winnable, the conference will take a big step back next year.

FYI, these are the two who signed letters of intent in November who are named in the article:
Tyler Cochran, Bolingbrook HS, 6-3, point guard
Keenon Cole, Streamwood HS, 6-7, power forward

Every season is a "new" team and a "new" conference. As long as the Huskies stay on the right side of the rules, I don't care who gets the credit. An automatic bid is still an automatic bid.

I would guess BGSU is the overwhelming favorite to get that bid
