Way to go Aresco!

The leftovers will be better than you think due to a SEC 2-year rotation rule that governs the B12/SEC challenge. For instance, this year Auburn would be one of our opponents.

Auburn didn't participate this year because they finished in the Bottom 4 in 2016-2017.

So it will be back-to-back years of Georgia/Vandy/South Carolina/Ole Miss or Georgia/Vandy/Mizzou/Texas A&M starting next season depending whether they go with results from the 2017-2018 season or the 2018-2019 season.

Either way those aren't bad groups to play versus some of the other trash scheduled. Are they supposed to play the top 4 teams from the American?

Rothstein didn't say top 4 AAC teams which he could have easily done he said select AAC teams. That is different meaning least to me.

ESPN is going to want the teams with the best national brands. Probably the 4 of Memphis, Cincinnati, UConn, and Wichita. Potentially Houston or Temple gets in there, but I think the other 4 draw more national eyeballs.

Does home-and-home series mean the 4 AAC teams will start home-and-homes or just that there will be games at AAC and SEC arenas?

This is just the start. I expect a similar deal with the ACC who also has a rotating challange, maybe the PAC as well.

The AAC teams will be put on a rotation as well which will keep the teams and challanges fresh. So we probably have nine games without anything crazy having to happen with the extras from the ACC. That alone is a nice step up.

UCONN won't have to worry about playing those leftovers.

I wish ECU did. How many 300+ NET teams can the Pirates fit into their schedule next season?

That was too easy 07-coffee3

this does absolutely nothing for us ..nothing

but we get to say we have a challnege with a p5..

challenges are supposed to help our middling teams with scheduling ..to build the SOS of the conference..

this is likely going to our top 4 who likely wont need help with scheduling..vs not great teams

this was more about bragging rights than actually accomplishing anything

if this is the best the p5 are willing to offer...i think its time to start looking into "america vs the nation challenge" (catchy name i came up with)

our top 10 AAC vs the top 3 from the a10, the top 3 from the mwc, top 2 from the wcc, and 2 atlarges vs the top mid major (the woffords, the vermonts, the UNCGs of the world)

that would be interesting

Sources: SEC teams not involved in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge will play home-and-home series' starting in 19-20 against select teams from the American Conference. The goal of the alliance between the leagues is create more Quad 1 and 2 opportunities.

Memphis, UConn, Cincinnati, Houston, maybe Temple, maybe UCF.

What, No USF.... 2019 CBI Champion.....

How do you know this agreement with the SEC is it? I specifically remember Aresco stating they were working on agreementS (as in more than one).

Maybe there are others on the way.

This one is not a bad start. We''ll be playing schools with a NET of around 80-100 most likely. Sometimes higher than that. That's better than nothing.

Yup I expect something like the America vs Nation set up.

Getting some SEC, some ACC teams (they have one left over no matter what) maybe some big 10 to go with the end of their gravit games or to compliment them, and hopefully a PAC match up where our top teams play their top teams.

Heard Aresco just got off the phone with UCONN's former AD. Something to do with local trophy shops.

I'm not sure you can say that. Remember if this is actually the bottom four of the SEC is the bottom four from the previous year .. not the year they play. And if it's a true home and home then the last game will at least be three years removed from that bottom four finish. Auburn made the final four this season and was *not in the Big 12 challenge this season* so there's that:-)

Aresco said something about a couple of scheduling "deals" coming up---so there should be at least one more coming. The Pac12, with no challenge agreement, would seem like a prime target.
