That's why we put you back on the schedule for a four game series.

Tulane is the ugly duckling of this league - we have zero pull to recruit other institutions.

You listed all the people who might care. Plus Houston who I don't think cares either way. Temple, Cincy, UConn, USF, Navy, SMU, and Tulsa could care less. Maybe UCF would, but not so sure.

Application denied for the 50th time.

Actually, Smu, Usf, Ucf, Tulsa...and even Cincy would rather see Usm in their stadium moreso than others in their conference. Only fans that wouldn't be pumped are Temple, Uconn and Navy.

I'll be sure to borrow these delicious excuses come football season.

I was actually pouring cold water on our attendance numbers for this year, but hey, you do you my man.

Hey, Tulsa fan here. No.

USM football has more appeal than UConn football, maybe Temple football. Maybe. But both of those programs basketball are more attractive than USM football. And we play them 2 years out of four in football. Temple has been a really good team and that makes then attractive, if UConn starts playing like that they'll be just as attractive. So that's not a trade Tulsa fans would even consider. The caller i.d. says usm and we just send you to voice mail.

BC#1 the voice of Cincy fan gives you a thumb down, after the throat slash, Cincinnati Crippler stylem

You are way over selling your percieved reputation here. Tulane and Memphis make sense regionally/historically but that will work just fine ooc for them as a buy game or whatever. ECU fans seem to really miss you or at least think you got a raw deal.

I just don't see the ponies or coogs really caring. They miss Texas, and Texas AnM, maybe Tech or Baylor, but USM? I'd guess they can take it or leave it.

What's really sad is that we are drawing 'in the ballpark' (no pun intended) for baseball what you guys draw for men's hoops.

What does UCLA draw... just wondering
I hear it’s nice out there.. should be good conditions for baseball

They don't have video technology out West yet, so we'll never know for sure.

Even UCLA knows that nobody watches West coast sports. Smart move by the Bruins to not waste $ on video.

Was a little upset at our meager 2k at the Dunk last weekend, before remembering UCLA exists.

Good GOD how hard is it to support the best team in college baseball???

Source? The figures for ECU are wrong. ECU has played 18 home games for a total of 55,599 with an average of 3089.
Apparently the attendance for two double headers was only counted once yet the total number of games was divided into the season total.

That would give a total attendance of 48857÷18 for an average of 2714, which is incorrect.

This was from Tuesday morning though. I plan on updating every Monday/Tuesday since their are weekend series and mid week games. I just realized we weren't doing it like we do in basketball and football. I think much like basketball, baseball is just now coming into it's own. Will be interesting to watch the trends develope from that.

Thanks. Found it under the Misc Reports tab. We haven't played a home game since 4/3. ECU should be #18. I'll see if I can email someone to make a correction.

Yo Juan! Nerd Alert is pretty spot on.

I spoke today with Malcolm Gray from ECU Athletics Media Relations. Apparently the NCAA counts dates and not games for attendance totals. This creates a disadvantage for teams that play doubleheaders. The real problem is when they do averages, they count attendance once but divide by both games. So for example, we have had three double-headers meaning that for three games the attendance counted as zero. We had over 3,000 per game last weekend against UConn, but our average attendance actually went down because of that.

Mr. Gray has already spoken this year with someone from the NCAA and was told that at the end of the year when all games have been played, they go back and adjust the averages. If this were done now ECU would have an average attendance of 3085, which would put us in 18th place.

I plan on updating this afternoon or tomorrow. I will take that into account. I may have two numbers, the official count and actual adjusted attendance. I don't want to go through the headache of counting up all 300 schools double headers so the national rank will have to remain a guesstimate until the end of the season.

Thanks, I totally agree. It would just feel great to jump over SEC, ACC and Pac-12 teams. Nothing like baseball attendance smack. 04-rock
