When I was o. School in the late 80s you would not walk past Woodruff Park from campus. There were 4k Sq foot lofts with 20 ft ceilings in Castleberry Hill near the Dome going for about $50k (bangs head against brick wall). It's defiantly a different downtown now.

Honest question (not trying to stir the pot): What's with all of the melodrama here?

I would've thought things were really looking up now at Georgia State, but it seems like many on PT are getting restless and starting to question Charlie Cobb.

I also think it's kind of strange to be looking wistfully at what's going on at Tech. Their fan base is excited because their grumpy, curmudgeon coach got replaced by a guy that's actually putting energy in trying to get fans excited, but once the season starts they're going to be in for a world of hurt. They don't have the QBs, receivers for Collins' offense and their offensive linemen are undersized as well. It'll be 2 rough seasons before they get back to winning 6-8 games a year, except they won't get any more seasons like 2009 and 2014 and won't beat UGA any more as long as Kirby Smart is there.

Just saying, when even the Gasots think you're being overly dramatic, you probably are being overly dramatic. 07-coffee3

Changes Happening in Georgia State
Where to start?

AD has accomplished nothing ...

Roll Credits

Lol

...seriously though.

There was just a Spring Tour stop where our football HC and our AD took allegedly exception to what they viewed as negative questioning and proceeded to lecture fans.

GT serves as a litmus test not because we think we are P5 or anything but because we exist in the same sphere of influence. So we see two different approaches. A NC AD hires a NC/SC head coach who proceeds to actively recruit outside Atlanta and Georgia and ignore the 200 three stars a year produced here. When called on it the answer given is that the kids have to want to come to GSU. This even though enough anecdotal evidence exists to point to Metro Atlanta HS coaches not being able to get any engagement from GSU. The bottom line is that he won with of all people Trent Miles' players in year one and has trended down since and there is zero reason to believe this year will be any better. Even his practice of closing practice speaks to please shut and sit down. No questions please.

Contrast that with what's happening blocks away. They hired a successful coordinator from the best program in America who is an Atlanta native. He immediate starts bringing recognizable names back to campus and pumping 404 everywhere. As of last week they were (it won't hold) 12th in the nation in recruiting. They had 700 kids at their Friday Night Lights Spring Game. Everything about their attitude and daily operations is the antithesis of what we get on a daily basis from GSU Athletics.

Add to that that fundraising is a disaster (How much do you suck that you make Levick look stellar???)

And let's not forget that wherever the eventual story of he said , he said when as an AD you start communicating with the most successful by far coach in school history via attorney, you have seriously mismanaged a relationship.

So that's just a primer as to why people are up in arms and down in the dumps.

Elliott not recruiting Atlanta is insane. App has had a pipeline for years, thanks in large part to Sloan. Every FBS team within 400 miles of Atlanta should have a dedicated recruiter there.

Would seem to be a no brainer. But whatever you do don't ask. He will get mad and then say the kids don't want to come.

Damn...that sounds horrible. I had no idea things were that bad up there. Y'all deserve much better than what you're getting right now from your admin. Hope to see some changes in the near future.

An unproven coach who went and hired all his buddies as assistants and is now in over his head is giving lip service to donors while the AD stands idly by and shrugs his shoulders?

That sounds so familiar

If he starts saying "clearly", "you have to sit there and....", or starts looking like a deer in the headlights at his press conferences and can't answer even the easiest of questions, then that will look familiar.
