Tony Bennett win last night gives Penny some hope...
According to Mike DeCourcey.

Mike chronicles how unsuccessful former NBA players are coaching in college. Ironically Tony Bennett is a former NBA player. Didn't know that.

What makes you think that Penny needs 'some hope'...? lol

He is a one of a kind and breaks the mold of the coaches mentioned in that article, imo.

Plus he doesn't look and act like he's lacking in hope.

Oddly enough though he mentions Dunleavy, Mullin, Ewing, Drexler, Hoiberg and Stackhouse but leaves off Penny.

I always thought he was a crooner and WW2 war hero.

James Wiseman and company give hope.

But even before that a nice improved season does the same.

Stackhouse at Vandy is an interesting hire. I gotta believe that he is aware of the prep scene a little bit by being in Memphis. Wonder if he will come in and try to snatch a player or two? Supposedly he has been talking to Hardaway about college coaching, so maybe we will see a game with Vandy down the road.

Penny has consistently surpassed expectations thus far. He hasn’t broken the mold, he’s his own, one of a kind entity.
Personally, I hope people continue to underestimate him.

I think what helps Penny is that he played point guard. He has to be a coach on the floor. None of the other with the exception of Avery Johnson playedpoint. Doesn’t mean they don’t know the game but that has to help Penny.

02-13-banana I know this is old but with the joke that I contacted Weight Watchers about their biggest loser and I kept getting the signature picture you use.
