RE: UA BOT Meeting Tidbits
If Alabama is able to borrow 1 penny as a result of using the Health Services & UAB's business clout then it is wrong.
I don't believe the BOT would allow UAB to borrow 1 penny that it couldn't handle with it's own credit.
The UA BOT had an initiative to populate the UABHSF board with as many BOT members as possible & it certainly wasn't just to make sure that the finances were in order with it.

They aren't. This specific meeting was an example of how they aren't. Each campus had separate approvals of their bonds

I mean the Board wouldn't even let UAB borrow money that it COULD handle on its own

I don't disagree with you there, but a) a lot of medical folks *at and from UAB* honestly don't give a damn about the UA vs UAB thing and are happy to see UAB only be a research institution without the "wastefulness" of the undergraduate side of campus and b) Board meddling doesn't have to be, and generally isn't, about "stealing" money from the medical system
UA football generates all the money they want and need, and they aren't going to risk that to skim what would have to be pennies off the top of the hospital. They are going to make sure that it's run how they want, and that certain things in Birmingham are kept in their place, but they don't have to nor want to steal to do that

RE: UA BOT Meeting Tidbits
As per your request:
Mixed up is right it is "highly unlikely"that money from Health system or UAB for UAT at least since about 1980.
Jay do you really it is good PR and help UAB long term to accuse even an enemy of a felony securities fraud with less than a million to one chance of being true. Than that is my point.
PS Jay Do you ANY pertinent information for your opine? IMHO mixedup sure did

BUT never is a very long time and you cannot state with absolute certainty that nothing similar has never happened. As I cannot state with absolute certainty that it did. Any such claims without being privy to all of the pertinent information is nothing more than supposition in either direction

I wouldn't trust Fess with my worst enemy.
There is a reason why tuition isn't being increased in state across the board & it has nothing to do with the BOT showing everyone mercy.
