I read this as an epic troll of Pearl. Regardless of intent, I love the tweet!

As a backstop, how bout we go play some of these teams in the road too instead of hosting D2 teams in front of less than 3,000?

Seriously...the tweet should read, "Any team that made the Dance this year , we challenge you. You're place or ours. Call me, Mark."

RE: Mark Ingram being proactive?
So we should go on the road and accept a game guarantee from the A Sun or SWAC champ? How much should we make them pay us?

I am not a MI fan but have no problem with that tweet and what was said. H&H is the right thing to say.

I have no problem with the tweet, but given his other scheduling actions it probably should have said "Any teams that made the big dance that are within driving distance of Birmingham"

I do find it interesting that they forget that a particular sleaze coach in the state was begging for a series with UAB.

Second that. No one is ever excited to play no name teams that are not a challenge. Particularly in a football state, where more than half the population barely knows basketball is played at the collegiate level. Got to play teams people want to see, and have to win some of those games, particulalry since this conference no longer has any perennial name teams or coaches that the average sports fan would get excited to see.

As a student I got to see teams from the original Sun Belt, Great Midwest and CUSA 1.0. No comparison to todays conference. Another reason I so despise UAT and the board for strategically holding us back.

On the positive side its also why Im so pumped about Clarks as ancoach and the corporate influence of the new Football foundation. We are positioning for the next round of realignment if we can elevate basketball and get past the Trojan horses in our administration.

proactive and revamp, What do they have in common. What he should do is hire a Coach and let the Wimps get out of the program.

Oh he didn't. I was just joking about the tweet he sent out after the season bragging about number of wins.

I think we get it. I hope every thread about basketball is not going to become a bash the coach thread.

Now the downside is you have JSU and NKU wanting that HH two teams most don’t want to schedule and would complain as much as playing New Orleans and Troy.

The schedule isn't really relevant regarding whether or not we get an at large because it isn't happening.

We do need a decent home schedule to generate excitement within the program that has been hard to generate the last several years (including the Haase years).

I'd love to see us play JSU and Samford.
