Nice, looks like a good pick up. 6'2" guard, that was 2nd on the team in scoring this season.

Shot 43.3% from the field and 34.3% from 3pt. Spent 2 years in JC and 1 year at Portland State, originally from Toronto Canada.

Muskrat, yes, he has to sit out a year.

So the big question for today's environment....

...if he gets his degree while he sits a year, can he jump as a graduate transfer next year?

As long as they turn the ball over regularly and love to chuck it....sign them up!!

Sorry. I hate this time of year. Hard to be excited about a “good get” until they “get their arse in the weight room” and learn to defend.

That is an incredibly interesting question that I do not know the answer to. It would've applied to Simons too.

Off topic but Michigan's head coach John Beilein signed as the Cavs new coach today. It will be interesting to see where Haynes ends up. I assume he likely won't follow him to the NBA.

anti-zip, to take it a step further, is there any NCAA bylaw that would prevent ANY athlete sitting out a year to move to a new school after that year?

Kain Harris will be transferring to Lamar, per verbalcommits. His 3rd stop.

So another guy who was expected to contribute plays a in a few meaningless early season blowout win situations and newer sees the court again. Can't tell the players without a scorecard is truer than ever -

It's my understanding that Harris was injured and that it why he never played again.

Sarcasm and snark aside, there is a list of over 800 names of players who have already transferred from their previous schools ... this is a 'basketball issue' not a Kent State issue ... if Harris had worked out, somebody else would have transferred ... that's the way of the college bb world these days.

If Harris had worked out he still might have left. That's the reality you live with when you take on a transfer. Seems like we're fortunate that Whittington isn't leaving.

That's all I am implying - it gets harder as the years pass to keep interest when you really never get to know the players - we were very lucky to keep Walker and Avery in this day and age!

RE: KSU Men's Basketball Recruiting Class 2019
You really can’t be a fan of the team anymore at any level. Yeah you can root for the Golden Flashes or the Cavs but your rooting for a thing not a team of humans. They change so fast it’s hard to keep up.
Today you must be a fan of the sport who can watch any game and enjoy it. Even in the NBA players are so mobile (even when under contract) it’s hard to commit to a specific team. Rumors are starting to surface that Zion doesn’t want to go to New Orleans. Stay tuned on that one. The Knicks or Lakers might still get him.

OLNWFLSH and Burden, I couldn't agree more. The old saying "Ya can't tell the players without a scorecard!" is truer than ever.

According to verbal commits Sentwali Nalls a 6'1" 160 lbs. PG from Chicago is joining the team as a walk-on out of HS.

Right. He is a "preferred walk-on" which pretty much ensures him a scholarship after one season (earlier if one should open up) if he stays around.
