I Never Thought I'd Live To See The Day...
... when Arkansas would condescend to play another in state team. But when it finally happened tonight, and our Little Rock Trojans were going to play the historic first regular season game against the Hogs, I just hoped for a good showing since the Hogs were ranked as a top 10 baseball team, and our Trojans were way under .500.
Never in my wildest dreams did I envision a 10 run rout over the Hogs by the Trojans! But this is what makes sports great, and my guess is that both baseball squads will be better going forward after tonight!

I would love to have been sitting by that condescending Rick Shaffer during the game. I accidentally turned on the radio yesterday to hear him say no one in NW Arkansas cared that they were playing the Trojans and he was sure the Trojans would be excited getting a chance to play there. While that may be true his looking down his nose at anything non Razorback irritates me to no end. I bet this game is not talked about much in the local media.

They interviewed several Hog fans on the early news today, and all said they thought it was great for the state, and had been waiting for years to finally see it.

He also said that while it was good for the state, it was obvious that this was a game the hogs would win easily because of the huge disparity between the programs.

RE: I Never Thought I'd Live To See The Day...
It really was amazing the more I think about it. I was switching back and forth, watching our game and the NIT games. When we got down 6-3, I probably would have predicted a 17-7 blow-out, just not in our favor. I have been following Little Rock baseball, to some degree for over 30 years. I can't remember scoring 17 runs very many times (I actually can't remember any). I can't remember winning by 10 runs many times, if at all. We did both last night, on the road, against the #9 team in the country, in the first regular season instate game between the 2 schools. I guess decades of frustration somehow funneled through to our players, most of whom of no idea how long LR fans have been waiting for this.
