Hmm, yeah, I kind of did. In fact I distinctly remember signing you up for SYS football and I was certainly an integral part of you getting your black belt. If I didn't make you in the literal sense I certainly enabled it and provided you the opportunity.

What are you now, Obama? "You didn't make that". Well, yeah, I did.

I expressed a desire to play football. If you signed me up without that, then you'd have a point. That's not how it went down.

You and Mom decided to put me into Taekwondo as I was putting my hands on folks and was angry. Mostly because of a situation you caused.

You enabled me to go earn a black belt through my own hard work and effort.

This is the last thing I'm going to say about this.

They aren’t men,” one young woman told Philadelphia Magazine flatly. “They’re boys.”

But that's the point of science. To try to prove the reasons behind everything and predict future results. Doesn't matter if its obvious to some, they still will want to prove it. Besides...

Common sense and understanding the obvious is becoming less common these days. lol

When men, er, boys go to a salon to have their eyebrows worked on that tells a lot of the new Americans.

RE: Raising the American Weakling
This has been coming on for about 80 years now. My grandfather's era, the Greatest Generation (1900-1929) may be the manliest of men ever. Most of them dealt with the Great Depression, fought in WWII, saw the advent of the nuclear bomb and fought in the Korean Conflict. These guys knew how to deal with and solve problems.

My dad is a Baby Boomer and I am a GenXer. Our generations were coddled, although we basically ooze manliness compared to the current crop of young men. I must admit as a parent of a millennial, I am as much to blame for this as anyone. I was divorced from his mother when he was 1.5 years old. She had a much more progressive vision of what a "man" should be, I subscribed to the traditional vision that boys need to be boys, let him get dirty and let him make mistakes and figure it out on his own. We constantly battled on this issue, and I eventually lost out or simply could not provide enough of an influence from afar. My son is still relatively young, hopefully he finally figures it out-- but he simply does not have the drive that I had at his age or the ability to deal with crisis when it comes at him. This being said, I love him and will continue to give him "tough love" in the hopes he figures it one day.
