Cartel kidnaps and beats 11 Mexican police officers in Puebla
https://www.foxnews.com/world/mexican-ca...e-officers
Quote:Cartel gunmen kidnapped 11 police officers traveling through the Mexican central state of Puebla during the weekend, taking their guns and detaining them for hours, according to reports.
The officers were traveling in two police trucks when their attackers surrounded them, ordering them to get out and forcing them to kneel, reported Mexican news outlets. The gunmen, who had been in three SUVs, took the officers’ weapons and cell phones and beat them, according to the reports.
The officers had finished responding to a call about an attempted theft of gasoline from an oil refinery.
Mexico is a failed state.

Mexico needs to bring back the death penalty. Start with cartel members and don't stop until they're all dead. It might start a gang war but so what? They have that already. Get rid of the locusts from the wheat.

We should close the border...that will MOS DEF solve the problem. They'll have plenty of avocados to throw at each other instead of bullets!

Apparently the govt is cracking down on cartel gas theft. Not sure it's doing any good though.

PEMEX, the state owned petroleum industry, is deployed armed security as well. Not sure if it's going to have any real effect since the entire government is eat up with corruption. Enough so they rank 138th out of 175 countries ranked.

Let them borrow Duterte from the Philippines for a few months. He seems to be doing a highly effective job in controlling narcotics and insurgents.

IMO, he'd be on the cartel payroll in no time.

Not to mention the fact that it shows that the imbeciles who keep telling us, even on this very board, that if we decriminalize drugs the cartels will lose power are talking out their collective asses.

Yeah corruption is the name of the game there, top to bottom. Amazing how the Angloshpere countries evolved so much better than Spanish countries.

Kidnapped? Beaten? Either the cartels are going soft or this was their equivalent of spanking the local police.

There's corruption in that "Anglosphere" too. The only difference is the money is under the table in your anglosphere countries and in your face in Hispanic countries.

My first thought, as well.
Closing the border? I’m undecided. Want more information. But even if it does not “MOS DEF solve the problem”, that doesn’t mean it wouldn’t help.

Anything it helps, and I'm guess next to nothing, would be far surpassed by the harm it would do. It could nearly disable our auto industry, not to mention how much our costs for produce and other things would jump.
If his orangeness closes the border, then yeah, we WILL actually have a National Emergency!

Corruption exists everywhere, it is just different down there and even worse in other countries lol. My comparison is more former Spanish/Portuguese colonies vs. British (where subjects of Europe moved to in reasonable numbers).

Most of the people who run those countries are "white" or fully European.

Trace their roots to Europe. Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, German, and a surprising amount of Middle Eastern people also. Lots of Lebanese, Syrians immigrated to Mexico, Brazil etc after WWl. Carlos Slim's family came from Lebanon. The massive corrupt engineering giant in Brazil, Odebrecht that is German AF.
