Vox: Our ‘Emotional Devastation’ Over Trump Winning The Election Drove Us So Insane
[Image: trump-wink.png]

TDS is real.

Quote:Since learning last week that Special Counsel Robert Mueller found no evidence of direct collusion between the Donald Trump presidential campaign and Russian officials looking to alter the outcome of the 2016 presidential elections, some left-leaning media and progressive activists have been on a soul-searching mission. How did they miss that the allegation was so thinly substantiated?

Vox Media feels it may have the answer. In an interview over the weekend with Rolling Stone writer Matt Taibbi, who claims that the Russian collusion spectacle was the worst media mistake in history, both Vox reporter Sean Illing and Taibbi agree: the Left was just far too devastated in the weeks following Trump’s election to think straight.

“A lot of people simply did not want to believe that Trump was a legitimate president, that someone this vulgar and this dishonest could win a presidential election,” Illing says. “And I think that disbelief and the emotional devastation of his election colored a lot of our judgments.”

This "we are so immature and entitled that we cannot maturely handle the results of an election that does not go our way" narrative certainly does not play well with me, and I strongly believe plays even worse in the flyover states. And a horrible lesson for grown adults to be teaching to their kids.

Translation:

We on the left are childish and immature and rather than handling something that doesn't go our way as an adult, we'll throw a temper tantrum.

We're not supposed to lose, we want our trophy!

I said the same thing two years ago. Dems are just slow on the uptake.

Well at least the left finally admits TDS is real. That's a start.

The first step in solving a problem is admitting there is a problem.

So they are starting to break their CNN/NYT Russian conspiracy theory addiction.

I have seen some liberals in other venues claim that 'the right' is only able to admit that Russian interference existed in the 2016 cycle, but only because Trump is in the clear re: collusion.

Kind of stepping back to their default 'deplorable' stance in that regard.

Oh come on. We've had VERY vulgar and dishonest presidents before.

Jackson cursed so much that his parrot let loose a barrage of filthy language at his funeral. He initiated the spoils system where most federal employees were replaced with political appointees as a reward for their service during the presidential campaign. And he directly defied the Supreme Court to initiate the Trail of Tears.
Harding was a serial philanderer whose own administration stole millions from the Federal Treasury.
LBJ 100% lied about Vietnam from start to finish.
Nixon was the definition of vulgar and dishonest.
Clinton was a borderline sex addict who abused his authority to have sex with his employees.

George Carlin said it best: "Americans really show their ignorance when they say they want their politicians to be honest. If honesty were suddenly introduced into American life, the whole system would collapse. I think deep down Americans know that. That's why they elected and re-elected Bill Clinton. Because the American people like their B***Sh** right out front where they can get a good strong whiff of it. Clinton might be full of sh** but at least he lets you know it."

That was a classic - SNL has been short on laughs lately but that was a good one.

The best watch on election night was that show with the big Italian guy and a panel of 2 or 3 others who just melted down as the night unfolded. I wish I could remember the name of it.... That was better than the SNL skit because it was real!

I am sure someone here remembers it and probably has the link....
