RE: Duke and ESPN: what is the connection?
Get up is terrible.

ESPN is floundering in terms of subscribers.

I think they're desperate to pull in viewers and it's kind of like NASCAR:

Try to pull in casual fans, but in doing so, get the loyal, hardcore fans upset.

The difference is that hardcore college BB fans are cutting the chord and getting free streams off the internet.

The casual fan MIGHT care about Get Up and might care about ZW. I would rather go to NCAA.com for my highlights.

For example, on Sunday night, when the Oregon Ducks won the West Regional for the Lady's tournament, there was not a SINGLE second devoted to the game, but instead ESPN decided to force feed a 15 minute montage of the 'great' ZW. I was in a hotel, so I had no choice but to watch ESPN and wow, does it suck.

Any show that features Screamin' A. Smith as a 'contributor' is a joke.

For example, Duke does have a love/hate relationship with sports fans but do fans who hate Duke will sit there all day with ESPN pushing that program all day? No they will turn it off or change channels

Or they will create message board threads and talk about it some more...

If someone made a thread about the University of Montana, I wouldn't comment about it, read about it or listen to it. I'd immediately turn my attention to something else.

People love to get angry about the amount of press Duke gets. Fuels the fire and perpetuates the news cycle.

They have to have something to push the “news cycle”.

In my house we used to hate Tim Tebow because he was everywhere we watched. Then we realized we didn’t hate him, but being force fed anything he did on or off the field. After him Johnny Manzeil (sp?) was the media darling. Zion is a great player, and is fun to watch, but he is now getting what we call the “Tim Tebow effect.” It probably really started with Tiger Woods, but we weren’t aware of the constant barrage of coverage back then.

More than just ESPN, you must begin with the top media conglomerate, which is DISNEY... They operate through channels that link political influences that ultimately connects to The Vatican; The Pope; and ultimately Queen E.... These Elitists show a pristine public persona, but through history;lineage and association have very dark underground interests/mores, which again from a normal fan level, we can't possibly understand....

Think Sandusky with PSU, "The Fall Guy" that CAN'T be executed without a sophisticated network that allows him to execute and facilitate so many organizations that have MAJOR credibility, so that us FAN(s)natics are focused on the entertainment aspect; while those aforementioned groups have a totally different interest and agenda from what WE mundane fans could even imagine.... Institutions used as a TROJAN horse to deceive us... and for that institutions participation and vow of secrecy 03-shhhh They are promised relevancy: success;status;promotion;protection(ESPN;DISNEY) for as long as those agreements and processes remain intact.... It's actually the sole purpose of Fraternities/Sororities, indoctrination to keep an "Oath of Secrecy"
