As for something. It seems Detroit Mercy is having money problems and cut some majors to offset the budget. If they do have issues? would Wayne State buy their campus and replaced them in the Horizon? Be something to consider.

Just stop..........

It’s like watching someone play Risk or Dungeons and Dragons

It's like someone who's never seen the rulebook playing Risk or D&D.

So, if the talks are correct, Bellarmine going announce to join D1 soon in a few months. Surprise Horizon League did not grab them since they are in a large metro that fits their M.O.

It comes down largely to travel. The Summit League has shifted decidedly west and has left PFW as an outlier. The nearest school is Western Illinois - 344 miles away. Omaha is next closest at just over 600 miles away. Their longest trip in the Horizon League would be 360 miles to Green Bay.

The last straw for PFW, IMO, was the league moving its HQ from suburban Chicago to Sioux Falls. It signaled that the league was no longer interested in what the lower Midwest had to provide and would not miss PFW if it left, though the league certainly won't cut them a deal on the $1M buyout to facilitate their departure.

Personally, I wonder how long they can stay Division I. They've been at this for 20 years now and have had only occasional success in sports outside men's basketball, and even MBB has only been good for the last 5 years or so. Their facilities are awful and their budget is one of the smallest at this level. They would probably be quite successful back in the GLVC, but any sort of sustained excellence in D1 feels like a huge long shot.
