Yes it is ridiculous but I can see both sides of it...

When Cal signed up he knew their expectations (realistic or not) were multiple championships. You hear it all the time with KY fans, banners don't matter, only championships. All the KY people making predictions about the Cal era were saying 2-3 NCs in this same time span. And I am sure Cal felt the same way. If you aren't winning championships at KY you are going to have to deal with the stress...

On the other side, his accomplishments are exceptional in every phase except for NCs.

They don't want him to leave because they could be put on probation. Seems like that is what happens when leaves a school. (Umass-Memphis.)

1 title every 10 years is roughly their average. Half of their championships come before integration.
