Last time MBB had mid-major(s) in the championship game was 2016, when George Washington defeated Valparaiso. Coincidentally, that is also the last time WBB had mid-majors in the WNIT championship game which saw South Dakota defeat Florida Gulf Coast. South Dakota defeated Oregon in the semifinal, while FGCU defeated Michigan it its semifinal game.

If Drexel (2013) can do it, so can we. And they hosted the final. Sounds like a plan.

Thanks, unfortunately our team is tired and chinked up too going into the 35th game of a long season. I hope you are right, though.

Hard to know for sure at this point in the season, but I'll just say that Coach O sure sounded pretty confident on the JMUSB podcast this week, sounded like he felt good about the matchup. Of course, the audio is all jacked up thanks to those morons .

yikes, have squeaked by the last few with a struggling offense. Looks like will need to find a new gear to stay in this game

These missed layups and free throws are killing us. Every time the ladies gain ground they just can't capitalize on the turnovers and Northwestern re-extends the lead.

Really hope Coach O can switch some things around at half and hopefully give the Dukes a boost. Could be winning this game with some better plays.

Agree and the 1-2 footers too. Frustrates me to no end, but it's the nature of WBB.

Yeah, unfortunately so. It's tough to see what should be gimmes clank off the rim.

Glad to still be within single digits at halftime. Slow start, and glad to see the Dukes getting back into the game, but they're still not able to close the gap, as Northwestern keeps pulling back away every time they get close. Those two missed free throws that would've made it a 1-point game were especially frustrating.

We'll see if they come out in the third quarter with some momentum; we really need some energy to give us the lead and the win.

c'mon ladies! good forced turnovers, get some more buckets!

aaand like clockwork, we get back within 6 points then we can't hit anything, and let them pull back out. Game in a nutshell.

Driving me crazy. They chip away at the lead so nicely, then try to go hero ball when they don't have to. Northwestern pulls back away.

Rough stretch there w/ Green and Bellernd in at the same time.
