RE: Cam’Ron Kelly
Well, he graduated early from OSHS in order to be at AU for spring ball. My guess is he might have gotten a little homesick or found college academics and athletics a little tougher than he thought they would be. I can't imagine that to be an easy transition in the summer, much less doing it mid-school year. AU has got to be at least 9-10 hour drive from here. There are rumors that he is planning to go to every school in the state of Virginia. My guess is that a better picture will come when he knows what his status is with the NCAA.

Question: Are dead/quiet periods for recruiting transfers like there are with high school guys?

It's interesting that Kelly transferred "closer to home " and picked UNC. I mean how many Division 1 schools are closer than UNC? In North Carolina alone I can think of Duke, NC State, ECU, not to mention all the Va. Schools, a few in practically his back yard. Not crying grapes here but how about being realistic? I am guessing his family issues were not too pressing after all.

VT is farther by two hours. Duke and State are closer by just minutes. UVA and ECU are about the same as UNC IIRC. ODU is of course ridiculously close to home.

Any of them are about a day closer than Auburn.

We had a similar discussion in one of the recruiting threads a while back. I think it was either 13 or Punk who told me that no, they are not.
