Good for San Antonio...they should open a Chipotle, Panera, or Texas favorite Whataburger.

Not the purpose of government. Silly socialist boy.

wouldn't that depend on who runs the San Antonio airport? my assumption is the city of San Antonio so the City Council should have final say over the matter right?

that's Democracy friend.

The SA airport, as was mentioned in the letter, is the recipient of federal grants which precludes them from engaging in discriminatory behaviors. If this was a gay hair salon and they were turned away because they were gay - or any other reason that would be ignored in favor of the "they're gay" argument you'd be turning purple right now. C'mon bud, hypocrisy is understandable at times but rank hypocrisy is ugly to behold. Don't be that guy.

Tell me, what is it that you feel justifies denying them facilities there?

And what makes it doubly ridiculous is that it is primarily based on the personal donations of their deceased former chairman, some of which went to groups opposed to gay marriage. That is why the left so hates them.

For once I agree with you though.

Facebook group trying to get one in Arlington, Lakeland or Bartlett. If you had the money, you'd could get extremely wealthy owning any one of a number of things in Arlington - Whataburger, CFA, a bowling alley, Putt Putt, movie theatre, etc. There's just so many families w/ kids out here that would love to be able to do those things w/out going into Cordova or Memphis.

I thought about opening a cigar shop there but I'm not convinced the locals would support it. But you're right, there are opportunities aplenty out there for the right kind of businesses.

CFA understands it and their target market understands it. You are obviously not in their target market, and judged by the dismissive nature of your comment, you truly don't understand it. I can assure you that your failure to understand doesn't trouble CFA in the slightest.

Tell the truth, you got fired from Chick-fil-A? Either that or your girl/boyfriend was taken from you by someone working there......

Chick-fil-A in a title draws you out 100% of the time. No one can have the dislike, borderline hatred just because a chicken patten is soaked in pickles.

I guess he's not aware he can ask for his sandwich without pickles? I dont like pickles, I order every chicken sandwich from Chic-fil-a and they've never once said no.

It said that government couldn't discriminate on the basis of religion.

In other words, it restated the constitution.

hey, if they want into Memphis...more power to them!

I just know they have a location in Jackson MS (three hours south of Memphis) and North MS expansion into Southaven (by Tanger) and Olive Branch has been rumored for several years now.

So they soak a grilled chicken breast in pickle juice before applying the breading that they don't put on it?

Quote:Using Pickle Juice to Tenderize Meat
Chick-fil-A won’t confirm the theory that a pickle juice bath is the secret to the famous Chicken Sandwich, but this tenderizing trick still works on any kind of lean meat. Pork, turkey and, of course, chicken breast can soak in this zesty brine to pick up a moist texture and some dill flavor from pickling spices.

Quote:Many bloggers and Chick-fil-A regulars believe that the chicken breast is brined in pickle juice before it’s breaded and fried. This theory makes sense because pickle juice contains salt. This key ingredient helps carry moisture and flavor deep into the chicken in the same way it would help flavor a cucumber.

So its a non confirmed theory from people on the internet about their breaded chicken sandwiches... You're basing your argument on a random theory from bloggers on the internet...

How exactly is this proof of what they do to their grilled chicken aka non breaded sandwiches?

^ but that's not what I want.

If I want some chicken I'll go to Gus' or Popeye's...that's just me.

Texas Attorney General pounces: Come and take our Chick-fil-A
I've never been a fan of pickles so the few times I stop there, I get a grilled chicken sandwich since the fried one is brined.

Exactly. They DON'T have the final say. See the word 'religion' in there? I'm not a fan of these lists... Fair is fair and equal is equal... but it's there. The determining factor should be whether or not the people want it, and not some interpretation of the 'values' of the ownership of the company, especially one that is not present in their restaurants. Its not as if they don't serve or even hire gay people.

If you're going to do this, then I'd demand that the City review the ownership of ALL vendors for the city to see if they belong to or support organizations that discriminate in any way.... which as someone said, would clearly include much/most of Islam. Even the 'peaceful' majority of Islam (as well as some Christian sects) also discriminate against women (by our collective definition).
