I’m in too!! It’s our turn! We could turn little Cesar’s into Lawson!

If Allison, McGing and Samuelsson all do come back we have a real chance to bring back Lawson East 2011 and 2012 style.

UMD's defense just choked the life out of UMass all night. Three titles in 8 years for Sandelin. Some NHL team is going to at least look into that.

RE: NCAA Tourney
Sandelin is signed for 2 more years and is making $300,000+ right now. That provides a pretty nice lifestyle in Duluth. He's been there for 19 years and must like his life there and may not wish to deal with the BS of being a pro coach. He's got a good thing going so I don't see him going to the NHL.

I remember many years ago when Ron Mason was at MSU and turned down offers to jump to the NHL saying he had it pretty good in EL.

I was very impressed with their dominating performance and pleased with the great PR the play by play guys heaped on the NCHC. If Hunter Shepard returns UMD will still be a powerhouse. Still very disappointed in our finish but looking forward to next year. My wife reminded me during the game by asking "what did we do vs Duluth?" "5 outa 6 points, honey."

“Hobey boy” was frustrated all night. Thought he launched and should have had a fiver for that headshot.

My favorite moment this season besides us winning the vegas tournament and me being there:

We did this to the national champs :)

RE: NCAA Tourney
If Duluth repeating this year doesn't prove that an NCAA title is plausible for our program, I don't know what else would. WMU can play the kind of physical hockey the rest of the league has played -- it just needs to do it in March and April.

I don't think it's 'national title or bust' yet, but success in the tournament is the next major step the program has to take. Enough of the 'nevers' -- it's time for the program to elevate itself.

Damn right. It's time to take the next step.

RE: NCAA Tourney
Were we good enough to win a national championship? I think we were. Look at our games vs Duluth and Denver at Lawson this year. We matched up very well and they made the FF. We should have won the Friday game with St. Cloud but they seemed to have our number this year. I think we were better than most of the teams in the tournament. A weak finish sank us.

It's interesting how teams match up sometimes. Look at Notre Dame. They were a pretty good team with good goaltending and UMass beat them like a drum. I was thinking we would have had an all NCHC final and figured Denver to make it. UMass was lucky to beat them. My Eastern cousins were high on UMass and I told them if they could beat Duluth and Shepard in the final they really were the best and earned the championship by beating the best...…..but don't count on it.

UMass had the best power play in the country this year. The Denver-UMass game totally flipped when they had the 5 min PP. They scored 3 PP goals within about 3 minutes. Denver outplayed them the rest of the game.
