RE: Nate Knight
I think he should have been an All American. If my memory serves well, he was the best big man on the court in every game we played. I think he would start on every team in the nation given his versatility.

Yeah, but he would have needed to make one of the first 3 All-America teams to have a solid shot. Unfortunately, not enough of the voters know about W&M to make that happen. I say it goes to Garza.

Yeah, Knight had a great season and a great career, but no question that Garza or Azubuike deserve it more. Garza put up roughly the same numbers AND did it in the toughest conference in the country.

W&M's defensive play from 2003-2019 can attest to that.

RE: Nate Knight
How did he get through 4 years without some kind of medieval nickname. We have Kings, Queens and a Knight. Shame on us.

I am hoping he gets a fair shot at the NBA. I don't see him mentioned very much as a potential draft pick.

Fran Fraschilla tweets:

“ Want an @NBADraft sleeper? Teams are making a lot of phone calls to @WMTribeMBB staff about 2-time Jabbar Award nominee, 6-10 240 pound Nathan Knight. 20 & 10 guy but, more importantly, he is a modern NBA “point center” with mobility for his size. Very draft-able in 2nd Rd.”

Great to see Nate named the Virginia Player of the Year and Coach Fischer the Virginia Coach of the Year. And second consecutive season for Knight on the All-State team, matching Marcus.

What I'll miss, and I'm certain many of you will too, is the annual basketball dinner...held at Governor's Land the past few years right around this time....which would have honored our seniors including a farewell to Nate Knight and his senior speech. His wonderful post-game remarks after the CAA Tourney loss represents the best of Tribe Athletics and will stand the test of time.

It's sad we won't get to celebrate the historic season and hear from Knight and Van Vliet. But I have a feeling Knight will be back sometime in the future for a jersey retirement ceremony similar to Marcus this past year!

Season awards, typically handed out at the dinner, will be announced on social media this week.

Nate Knight
For what it's worth, this mock draft has Nathan Knight going 54th overall to Golden State. Would be a nice fit.

Iowa's Luke Garza withdrew from the NBA draft. In addition, '20 Makur Maker withdrew. (A boon for Howard.) Has to help Nate.

Nate moves up to #64 in ESPN's latest draft ranking. Legit shot.
