Offseason Rants and Musings Thread
In my small town, we have a drive thru taqueria where it is known by everyone that you call ahead with your order so that when you get to the window, you just pay, get your food and go. The tacos are made to order and if you wait to order at the window, you will hold up the whole line and anger everyone.

Today, I pull in to the line and there is only one car ahead of me. The taco girl comes out the back of the shop and tells me that this jerk in front me didnt call in the order so it's gonna be awhile. There is only one lane and someone else already pulled up behind me. I look ahead to the offending car to sneer at them and I see two UTSA Roadrunner stickers on the car.

Leave it to a UTSA fan from the taco mecca of Texas to not know to call in your dang order for a drive thru taqueria.

That's all, im done. It's the football and basketball offseason and im still finding reasons to hate UTSA.

LOL! Offseason for which sport?

What's going on with Spring practice? Does you defense have any depth yet? Can your OLine protect Fine (excluding USM of course, we've never touched him)? Does Fine have a capable successor?

USM has a new offense. Fingers crossed that we have an actual OLine. Our defense, however, is reloading. Arguably, we were one play away from winning the division last year.

Well, for North Texas, it's pretty much offseason for everything since we dont have baseball. Im infinitely jealous of all of you who get that distraction during the long grind away from football and basketball.

I never know what to think coming out of spring ball. My concern is once again, defensive line. But I dont have much to go on except the daily reports from the Denton Record Chronicle. Vito, the writer mainly goes over highlights from the day.

Im excited for USM to be a strong team this season (just lose to us please). We need our more traditional names (I put USM, Marshall, and UTEP in that category) to be making headlines.

Offseason? Marshall still has 2 men's basketball games left and is in the middle of football spring practices! Feels very much IN-SEASON here...

Marshall should be in position to hold up its end this year. Starting to see the pre-season press putting us in the NY6 conversation, and we have a unique schedule this year... our OOC is Boise State (MWC favorite), Ohio (MAC East favorite and a contender for the MAC), and Cincinnati (who finished Top 25 and is probably best positioned to knock off UCF in the AAC). So, if Marshall can win CUSA, we have a possible opportunity to have directly played 3 of the other 4 G5 champs or contenders OOC. If Marshall can be in the conversation at the end of this year, it'll likely have had the opportunity to go directly against the NY6 competition head-to-head.

At MT, we lost most of our OL and DL. That's only complicated by losing our 12-year starting QB.

But we have our Johnny Manziel in waiting. See below. Our backup QB really did hurdle this FIU defender...

Gotta try me those tacos next time thru. Thx for the heads up I’ll call first.

clt asked me to ask if you can order them online at espn.+.com?

Been to the pie place (yum) and starbux (yawn) many a time.

You probably recognize my profile pic.

Don't know why Marshall would be in the NY6 preseason hype. New DC breaking in a seriously revamped front 4 and LB group. Questions on the outside WR group once you get past Obi. Offensive line and running game should be very good, everything else is premature.

Seven home games helps, but this is one of those "could win 7, could win 10" type years.

Ha ha. I recognize it well. I drove it today to get to Liberty Hill. Next time, skip the Starbucks and hit up Numinous or Mojo's.

Tell clt that he is welcome to call ESPN+ and order anything he likes. They will happily take his money.

I agree. Having to go to FAU and Boise State will be tough. However, getting Cincinnati, La Tech and FIU at home helps.

If we go 10-2 we overachieved. It’s super early, but this Marshall team has 8-4 written all over it. But that’s not terrible, as we should have a lot return in 2020 when we have the greatest OOC ever assembled.

I think 2019 is about building for a run in 2020.

I heard Vladi Rivas has been putting in some offseason work. If he can improve from being 60% past 30 yards we might actuallly win some close games. I’m optimistic that we can compete with the top of CUSA once again. Our RB and WR core is in the process of reloading but our defense should be improved.

RE: Offseason Rants and Musings Thread
I agree with Riley and Banker. No way we are an AB team. I’d say 8-4 is a pretty good prediction. 7-5 wouldn’t surprise me, but neither would 9-3. Our identity right now is inconsistency. We can’t retain coaches (which says we’re doing something right) which causes inconsistency in positions.

Brady being gone could...could... could be a blessing in that Green will have to survey the field and not lock on to one receiver (wasn’t a huge problem, but it did happen).

Oh, and if out dbs don’t learn to get their head around to look for the ball, I’m gonna go Section 8!
