Who besides Perkins was poached out from under us? I thought all the other Detroit people on Buffalo's roster were still JuCo transfers anyway.

When Hurley hired Oats, the Buffalo roster was also immediately populated with Detroit area players. Perkins was the last of that lot as Oats's Michigan connections diminished and he found players elsewhere. Had Buffalo hired him a year earlier, I am pretty sure Ray Lee never would have been at EMU. He is a fabulous recruiter and is of the age where he could make a real impact in the SEC.

I see five Michigan players at Buffalo in Oats' entire tenure, three of which played under Oats at Romulus. After that Oats landed Perkins, one kid from Pershing, and that's it.
