MyBB JMU WBB: I had no idea...
I knew the women's program had a long and proud history (and this probably isn't news to a lot of you), but I never realized it was one of the nation's oldest programs (97 seasons played, these stats are up to 2016/17) and is among the top in wins. 01-ncaabbs

You should ask '24 and Warrior about the first game.

Alright - I'll ask

How come we've played for 47 more seasons than ODU, but have only played 153 games more? I know they had a little more post season success, but did we have a lot of 4 game seasons?

Let's put 4 more wins down for this season, starting with 1 tomorrow night.

In the early years of JMU WBB they would play very short seasons (compared to today), not 4 games short, however, the answer to your question is that those first seasons (up until the 1970s) account for the difference.

For those interested in more of the early WBB history, those early games in the 1920s were played in the basement of Ashby...the first gymnasium on campus. Later the gym was the painting/drawing studio for the art program (even after the art program had moved out of the 4th floor attic of Wilson), and today the former "original" women's gym is a computer testing lab.

Which building over on the quad had the pool in it? Was that Ashby as well?

No, that’s the building to the left side of Wilson (as you’d look at Wilson from the Quad). I believe that building (w/pool and sliding cover) was the second gym. The third gym would be Godwin.

Yup, Reed/Keezel Hall. When I was there in the 80s, you could see the remnants of the old gym structure in the basement. I thought '24 said he practiced there when the gym floor was set up.
