Next year is about maximizing the one season with Wiseman. The best way to maximize him is to surround him with people that compliment him the most. Trendon compliments him the most because of his basketball IQ and his ability to impact the game in multiple ways.

Trendon will make a bigger impact immediately.

You speak like Precious is borderline garbage. He put up 22 in the McDonald’s game. He flies up and down the court. Watford doesn’t have a higher motor than Precious. At best they’re tied. And I noticed that you left off comparing athleticism in comparing the two. I wonder who the better athlete is? Stop with the takes that paint Precious as some guy with no skills.

In the end landing either one helps us tremendously. I personally will be extremely happy with which ever one we get. I certainly won’t be displeased that we landed a 5 star forward.

If his skills were what you’re describing he couldn’t and wouldn’t be a 5 star.

I’ve said it several times, if Penny landed Precious and his buddy Quinones to go with the current class, all Tiger fans should be jumping for joy. Certainly not complaining about getting five star Precious Achuiwa and saying I wish we had gotten Watford.

If we get Watford and Lewis I will be thrilled, just as much as I would be with Precious and Quinones. And nobody knows for sure who would be the best fit for our one year with the Big Ticket. I’ll take my chances with either.

You do understand that sometimes rankings are built on potential. Precious has all the tools hence why he is a 5 star.

That doesn't mean he's this missing ticket that some of you make him out to be.

Also the chances are probably higher for Trendon and Lester coming over Precious and Lester. I've said it before the whole teammate thing with Precious and Lester is being overblown.

No it's pretty obvious what we need to maximize the season with Wiseman. They need outside shooting (Lester) and they need an all around player (Watford). They also could use some veteran leadership in the backcourt (hopefully a grad transfer).

Again it's about getting the players that maximize the one season with Wiseman. Trendon, IMO again, does that more than Precious.

At this point, I keep picturing an Onion article dated 50 years from now on how Watford finally made his decision, but at this point his only offer was from some nursing home league paying 3 meals a day plus health benefits. Seems like its been 6 years weve been waiting on this guy to decide

We view things differently. So just to move on... I hope Penny gets who HE wants and thinks will maximize the one year with Wiseman. Not who you or I want or think. I trust he knows what he’s doing. If by chance he gets one or two guys that differ from who you view as best for the program, how about giving Penny the benefit of the doubt? None of these players we’re talking about are garbage. And again, nobody knows who will be best for the program, Penny, or the one year of Wiseman. You can guess, but none of these guys has shot one jumper yet.

We have tyler harris and Alex lomax when they were not even considering coming here. We have Lance Thomas and A. Jones. Im sure Im missing someone but ultimately its crazy what we have gathered in talent in just 1 year. We had Junior college players a year ago. I am pleased even if we dont sign anyone else. It is a good time to be a Tiger fan in Memphis! Penny knows what he is doing.

I dont think anyone feels "entitled", I dont, very happy with what Penny is doing. But as we saw with Pastner recruiting allure can wear off after a few years. Success early on while he has such a huge edge from his AAU days is important. Sounds nice to be going after the big boys, but since this is a school in a smaller conference and not a traditional powerhouse, he likely has to produce to keep it going. And by produce that means wins, some tourney success and some NBA product. I think many are just anxious in seeing if his plan is going to work.
