RE: Mike Anderson officially out at Arkansas
Next year for HCRB goes one of two ways: he either bombs(lesser or similar results to this year) and is gone or he wins big and gets a contract extension/raise. In either case, if he's gonna have guys at the end of the bench who don't/won't play anyway, they might as well be guys that have a bright future ahead of them for UAB.

Ultimately, I realize everyone here loves the Blazers as much as I do, I’ll never question a fellow fan’s loyalty or intelligence, unlike.... well you know, he who shall not be named (the banned one). Debate is good, it means we both care about the program, we just have differing opinions on how to improve it. I just wish the constant Ehsan/attendance bashing would be limited to one thread.
I agree it sucks because it gives the impression that our fans are so divided when really we have more unity of purpose than in a long time. It's just primarily focused on one sport, football.
I think BlazerMatt is dead on when he identifies the lack of trust in our leaders as the ultimate cause of our fan conflicts. If we had a President and AD that we trusted like Bill Clark, then more fans would have faith that men's basketball would eventually turn around.
The UAB Athletic Department can afford to be patient with the present BB staff because there is no coach in our division of C-USA that is doing what Bruce Pearl is doing in the SEC west (Bama can tolerate success at UKY, UGA and UTK, but not at Auburn). He has already cost two coaches their jobs and more may follow - Texas A&M?. The reason there is less such pressure in the C-USA is that a coach that wins like that (White and Davis) gets quickly hired away from the league.
If FBHC Clark continues his present records for several seasons at UAB, he will also cost some league coaches their jobs. Being in a "one bid league" gives the other C-USA team's staffs more comfort in mediocrity - regardless of administration.
Another thought -- just as C-USA programs tend to be a "stepping stone" for the better coaches, the conference has also been a "stepping stone" for schools. Look at the former members who now call other conferences their home. Is there any "common denominator" from them that can be used to guide UAB in its quest to move upward?
