Fickell and his staff have been unbelievable on the recruiting front. Staggering success.

I guess he could play bball next year since he didn't play bball at Osu. Interesting.

He's a body who played the sport against high level competition at least. Averaged 10/5/4 as a senior and was 2nd all Dayton District if memory serves me correctly...nothing super special, but Kentucky and one of the Indiana Big 3 offered him a walk-on spot for basketball with their football rides I believe.

RE: Football Season
He's a good get regardless but it would appear he could fill an immediate need as a tall receiver who can go deep or provide a big target in the end zone for plays inside the 10 yard line.
Fickell and company continue to amaze. If Smith gets immediate eligibility it puts another weapon in the arsenal for winning a conference championship this season.
No reason this championship deprived town shouldn't help UC break the season attendance record this fall either. Go 'Cats!

It's unreal to be honest. I never want to lose this guy. If we ever get a P5 invite ....the classes he would pull... man.

If CLF stays for an extended period we can become the new Boise St., UCF, et al. Maybe then Nippert will fill completely to the brim. Pull in Reds and Bengals fans since those franchises are on the downward trend and then add 10,000 seats.

Agreed I like everything about him. Really is putting the pieces in place to build a great program.

RE: Football Season
Football season will be here in about three months tops. August 29th UCLA. September 7th @OSU. I love football the most but quite frankly I want to put the basketball season drama in the rear view mirror sooner rather than later.

Depth + talent = strong potential. However, unlike the backfield, the TE's are dependent on Ridder getting them the ball. I don't think that will be an issue in Year 2 for the Soph as I look for the Cats to exploit mismatches in coverage. I'm really intrigued with the utilization of the "K" position named after Travis Kelce. We know we can run the rock so having a consistent running attack opens so many other things up on offense.

Yeah, it's funny how things always work out fine for the O$U's and Michigans of the world.
If the NCAA wanted to be fair, they would just do away with the waiver.
However, to do that they would actually have to WANT... to be... FAIR.

RE: Football Season
Quote:The Bearcats 13 selections tied for the most of any team in the American Athletic Conference.
P James Smith (Wangaratta, Australia), RB Michael Warren II (Toledo, Ohio/Central Catholic), S James Wiggins (Homestead, Florida/South Dade) and LB Perry Young (Birmingham, Alabama/Spain Park) were first-team selections while TE Josiah Deguara (Folsom, California/Folsom) and QB Desmond Ridder (Louisville, Kentucky/St. Xavier) were second-team honorees.
The third team featured CB Coby Bryant (Cleveland, Ohio/Glenville), OL Morgan James (Highland, Michigan/Lakeland), DE Michael Pitts (Stone Mountain, Georgia/Stephenson) and LB Bryan Wright (New Castle, Delaware/Jirah Prep) and OL Chris Ferguson (Nassau, Bahamas/Lake Nona) CB Cam Jefferies (Painesville, Ohio/Riverside/Bowling Green) and WR Rashad Medaris (Indianapolis, Indiana/Pike/Western Illinois) earned spots on the fourth team.
