Grew up in Richmond area, Highland Springs. I was accepted to UVa, Tech, and WM, but passion was to go to Miami (FL) for Oceanography, but the financial help they offered did not bridge the gap enough to be able to go. Was getting into May of my senior year, and ODU had made some partial scholly offers previously, but they came through with a full ride through the Dominion Scholar program. My parents then basically bribed me by buying me a MGB convertible if I chose ODU, which I did. Never regretted the decision, left school debt-free, and have maintained numerous lifetime friendships that started in Norfolk.

When #1 UNC visited the Scope? .. with Rasheed Wright and Stackhouse?

This was when I was in the peak of my ODU passion as a student... cursing from courtside.

I attended in the late 60's (I have an ODC yearbook) but never finished. My wife is an alumna with a degree in secondary education. I come from a large family and four of my siblings are graduates with various degrees. We, my wife and I and my siblings, have had seasons tickets for men's basketball since the early 70's and my wife and I once made the drive to Evansville, IN for the Division II Final Four - we lost that year. I've been on the ODAF board for over thirty years.
