More Good Things for Cacok
Still think you guys are underselling how DC could translate to the NBA. The deeper the threes the more need to athletic fast guys too rebound effectively

Well, I'd love to see a visual breakdown on a chart but the eye test showed me that the vast majority of Cacok's rebounds were close to the basket. The more threes going up and the deeper they're shot from pushes those rebounds away from the basket and would decrease his ability to get boards in the fashion we've watched him do at UNCW.

Just don’t frame it like we doubted Devontae and we’re good. We doubted the NBA system. He still has a bit of work to do to prove his worth to them, but last night really helped. He’s got the drive and skill to do it, just hope they recognize and reward it.

I agree with what you said on other thread, they sign Kawai it increases his chances to make roster significantly!

Stephen A has a couple of sources saying Kawhi is going to the Lakers. Jalen Rose says he's signing a two year contract with the Raptors. Does that mean he's going to the Clippers?

He looked good, but didn't play as much. He did help them come back when he came in. If it was up to the announcers, he'd be playing a lot more.

RE: More Good Things for Cacok
Most Interesting Lakers No. 18: Devontae Cacok is a name to keep an eye on down the road

Cacok mostly flew under the radar until he filled the stat sheet during the California Classic Summer League in Sacramento while coming off the bench. Most of the attention heading into the summer was focused on second-round pick Talen Horton-Tucker and two-way contract player Zach Norvell Jr., as the Lakers were low on draft picks and heavy on undrafted signings. But Cacok made himself known by averaging 11.8 points, nine rebounds, 1.2 assists and two steals per game during the summer while coming off the bench in all but three games (which he started).

Cousins went down today with what some think is a serious knee issue. This could very well be the break he needed to grab a roster spot

RE: More Good Things for Cacok
Torn ACL; Cousins is out for the season. That'll likely move JaVale McGee into the starting lineup, with Jared Dudley backing up the 4.

Cacok will compete with Aric Holman (Mississippi St. UDFA) and possibly Kostas Antetokounmpo (Giannis' brother) for minutes at the 4/5. Though both Cacok and Holman are listed ahead of Kostas on the depth chart.

Bottom line: There's a void on the depth chart at the 4 and 5 spots, and the likelihood of Cacok making the team just increased dramatically.

Wouldn’t surprise me if the Lakers make a FA or trade though trying to fill that.

They're currently $11.6M over the cap, so that would prove difficult.

A trade would just have to match salaries and they can sign anyone on a minimum/vet minimum deal even if they are over the cap
