Thanks for posting George. Only reason I didn't post here was I don't believe there are more than one other Chicago-area alum on The Parliament. However, I have posted repeated on our Chicago-area Rice facebook page.

BTW, no deadline to the registration as walk-ins are welcome at the same $10 registration fee which includes a dinner buffet and an assortment of Goose Island's craft beers on tap. Can't beat that value! Coach Bloom, Joe Karlgaard, Rick Mello and Mike Melendez will all be in attendance.

If possible, please ask about the search for the new soccer coach. Also, how are they managing spring practice with no coaching staff? Thx.

Thanks for organizing, Walt.
I’ll go if I can finish up early enough at work.. squaring up to be a long week for me. Your note on walk-ins being accepted helps, I didn’t want to commit right now by pre-registering.

Hope you can make it, and don't worry if you're late as the first hour will be spent informally chatting and eating before we start the "formal" comments from Bloomgren and Karlgaard. Registration has been lagging badly, partly due to this being Spring Break week in Chicago...so we need everyone who can possibly attend to make it.

I got a busy week as well as I'm heading off for 10 days on the West Coast (Seattle, Silicon Valley) starting crack of dawn on Monday.

Spoke to Mello about the soccer coach search tonight. He said they're getting very close, and should be in a position to make an announcement within the month.

For tomorrow's caravan, Bloom said he was going to show a video of highlights, and then go through the powerpoint presentation he gives to recruits. Should be very interesting.

As for the Langley situation, I'll have a side conversation with Karlgaard tomorrow night, but Mello said they're prepared to do everything possible to keep her. She is very happy here, and she and Bloom have become very close.

Tonight, I asked Joe Karlgaard about the soccer coach search, and he said they're in the final stages of the vetting process, and a decision could be made as soon as this Friday.
