Let this be a lesson to all. Anyone who claims to be the best and brightest and runs their state and athletic conference into the ground, rejects a partnership with a successful conference, and rejects an overture from arguably the most successful sports broadcasting enterprise, should never be trusted to export their way of life to others. Just saying.

At this point, it makes more sense that Larry Scott is a plant from another conference...sent to destroy the PAC 12 for good.

Hum...I wonder if it is the Big 12 or the Big 10 being the closest geographic rivals. Would the ACC or SEC do it just to get rid of a potential rival? Or perhaps MWC or AAC to get rid of the P12 and take their place in the P5. Let the game of clue begin!

Sorry, but it wasn't a murder. Business forensics says it is a suicide!

Or you can hear Smith talk about his reporting on SBJ's First Look podcast which drops every Monday morning. It is the first half of the podcast.

RE: Pac-12 rejected deal with ESPN (pay wall)
I feel like the PAC 12 is doing their best to kill their own athletic programs. Both football and basketball are total dumpster fires. Their commissioner spends like a Kardashian but somehow when it comes to hiring coaches they dive through the bargain bin. I feel like interest in college sports on the West Coast is waning and I don't know that it'll ever recover.

Am I right? Is there any way to right the ship?

It was USC and Stanford that killed the Big 10 scheduling deal.

Don’t forget turning Oklahoma away!

I literally can’t. I still can’t believe B1G-PAC was turned down, and, if the rumors of UMD and Rutgers’ additions were done to offset the gains the B1G wanted to make from that arrangement, where that would have left the ACC and AAC (a possible seat at the majors table with UL and Rutgers still there, even if just for awhile?).
