Just got back and was reading through the posts. Great day for Lady Dukes and the Caps. The Caps did seem a bit disinterested in the 2nd period, but came back strong early in the 3rd. Looking forward to watching the re-run of the Dukes game.

And JeremyBoz was correct- Oshie was a scratch

Kenny told Sean (during the post game interview) to keep in touch. Hopefully, Kenny and Sean can arrange a home and home series for a few years.

There's another encounter on the horizon with the Hokies that could have big implications...

...2 current top 20 softball teams facing one another in a doubleheader on April 10 in Blacksburg.

Hopefully, the Softball Dukes can duplicate the success of last night.

Full agreement these 2 women's hoops programs should be facing one another annually. Maybe Kenny can bring his troops back to help open the new arena in a couple of years. hint hint wink wink

I feel like coach Sean's teams are overall better than coach Kenny's teams.

Guys, if you would have told me that VT beat us in FT (20/22 to 12/17) and 3PT (8/23 to 2/10) and nothing else, I would have asked if we lost by 10 or 20.

Also, Logan with 9 points! 3rd highest game total this year.

Hell of a game, really glad I was able to make the trip down.

IMO they're more well-rounded teams. If our best player is having a bad game (but still able to play), there are other pieces there to still get the win.

Question: does this win (#1 beating Tech and #2 making it to the WNIT quarterfinals) make up for the CAAT loss? Would making it to the WNIT semis after winning the regular season CAA title beat a mediocre regular season, winning the CAAT, and being a one-and-done in the NCAAT?

Perhaps I'm reading too much into it, but I really felt like this was a statement win for Coach O. He's been living in Coach Brooks' shadow and no longer has to. I'm not saying that JMU hasn't had good wins under Coach O, but this one felt much larger than any other I can recall. He's had great teams, but this season seems to be the first to be the type of team he wants to have- balanced scoring with tenacious defense.
I have always liked Coach O and I feel really good for him to get this win. I'm sure this one meant a LOT.
On to a rematch with Georgetown. Hopefully the Dukes keep playing strong.

Great game last night. definitely lived up to the hype. If you're a fan of the sport last night was special regardless of who you were rooting for. It would be great to have Kenny in the house on Sunday... on his terms.

JMU killed the Hokies in the paint. Our gals turned them over 17 times while we only turned it over 7 times. That's 10 extra possessions in our favor. Makes a huge difference.

Exactly HUGE win for Coach O last night taking down VT & Kenny (left for P5 job and Big$$$).

It was a very tough loss for KB and VT to swallow. If KB's seat was not warm, that loss last night will make it a bit toasty. VT did not pay KB the $$$ they did to 3 years down the road (would not schedule JMU) lose to JMU in the WNIT.

Watched the game late last night. Thought our two seniors came up huge. If there was plus/minus rating in basketball, Aneah Young would have had a big number last night. And Reynolds offensive aggressiveness was a real boost in more ways than just the scoreboard. Nice to see a switch in strategy in getting the ball inside rather than relying on the 3 too. Thought our defense was particularly tough tonight. Was very impressed w/ VT's pure shooting skill. We might have had better scorers, but those Hokie girls are some dead eye shooters. And lastly, big thanks to all who made the game. The DNR said it was around 5000. Included in that figure was a noticeable contingent of older fans (55+). Nice to see their consistent support of the Lady Dukes.

Probably was somewhere in between. Have no idea how they factored in the students. 5k would be just over 3/4 full. But it definitely looked (and sounded) like more than 2800.

Students 'should' be easy to account for.......they scan JAC cards when they enter. Add JAC card scans plus tix sold = total attendance. I assume they did that for the attendance number, but who knows.
