The need for higher seeds and better overall teams
If the bar the fan base wants to set for UC is post season success then the focus as to be on having better teams that earn high seeds.

From Huggins to Cronin UC as tossed away a bunch of high seeds:however, odds are still much higher to make a deep run from a protected seed than anything else.

This season UC was basically a team ranked in the 30’s in the advanced metrics with a resume of a 1997 four seed.

I rather have teams 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2002, and 2018 that suffered soul crushing losses but were legit teams that could have advanced than be in a spot where winning a single game in the tournament is a 50/50 proposition.

Basically 1994, 1995, 2005, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2019 we’re basically dead in the water the moment the brackets were announced.

The key is having a better team that excels in today’s modern game that drives efficiency rankings up. High efficiency rankings lead to better seeds which results in better chances in the tournament.

So for example that means playing to destroy a team and not just win the game. It means excelling in all aspects of the game, offense, defense, and rebounding.
