RE: Jacob Evans
Anytime a Bearcat is picked in the first round and has a chance for an NBA Championship ring in his first season, it's good for the player and good for the University of Cincinnati. Here's hoping he gets to play more in the coming years, but both of those are points of pride for Bearcat fans already.

RE: Jacob Evans
Jake and Gary's last season was UC's best chance to make it to the Final Four since Kenyon's senior year.

Next year is Livingston's last with the team. Could be resigned for the minimum but his age makes that doubtful. Iggy is also up after next season and makes significantly more then Livingston. i would be interested in seeing how big a pay cut Iggy is wiling to go to resign. i think it's likely that neither return. Obviously they are going to max out Klay who is up after this season; and i imagine that KD is leaving.

i agree that next season is huge for Jake. The team has options in years 3 and 4 of his contract. He's cheap and has some versatility as they list him as a SG but i imagine he can also play the SF position so it's not unrealistic that he sticks for the entirety of his contract regardless of his contributions but after that?

I could be mistaken, but I think I read recently that Livingston is contemplating retirement. All the serious injuries he's had in his career have really taken a toll.

Wouldn't be surprised. All things considered, he's had a remarkable career.

I think JE3 was drafted knowing Livingston was on his last legs and that Klay was a FA. I think this was always looked at as kind of a redshirt type year. I'd be surprised if JE3 doesn't have a good NBA career just given his measurables and his defensive ability. If he can get his shot back to where it was his first 2 1/2 years in college he's going to be fine.

If he can be a really good three point shooter in the NBA he'll have a long successful career. He has too much else going for him.

Please, this question is made in peace. No hidden agenda, nothing negative. I have watched less than 10 minutes of NBA basketball this season and zero of the playoffs.

Is Jacob playing at all? On the bench? Or is he on a minor league team?

He's had a lot of DNPs but has played, including some meaningful playoff minutes.

Jacob came in with approx 1:27 left garbage time, but was aggressive.
0-3.

So is it safe to say he's still struggling shooting the ball at the end of his first season or was this an anomaly? I don't follow the NBA closely enough and only learn of his progress from postings here. Here's hoping he gets some quality minutes before the championship series ends.

Hard to say on 18 shots total.

I think that's a little bit of an overstatement. He may have played some minutes once but he typically rides the bench or plays purely garbage minutes and hasn't done much with the little time he gets unfortunately.

Gary has actually seen significantly more playing time so far in their first years.

RE: Jacob Evans
Jacob Evans absolutely made the right choice going Pro! Great experience for a 21 year old learning from all time great players (and coaches) on an elite program. Keep learning from Andre Iguodala who is 35 and Klay Thompson who is 29 and I believe Jacob Evans can have a 10+ NBA season career.

"Jacob Evans signed a 2 year / $3,570,120 contract with the Golden State Warriors, including $3,570,120 guaranteed, and an annual average salary of $1,785,060." - Golden State still will have his rights until 2022 if they add years 3 and 4 (restricted FA).

https://www.spotrac.com/nba/golden-state...ans-26994/

Gary Clark has been a very pleasant surprise on another great basketball team. For Clark being undrafted and 24 years old, making the team and contributing has been awesome to watch.

"Gary Clark signed a 3 year / $3,677,585 contract with the Houston Rockets, including $1,305,298 guaranteed, and an annual average salary of $1,225,862." If Clark is still on the active roster in 2020 for Houston, his full second year salary becomes guaranteed.

https://www.spotrac.com/nba/houston-rock...ark-27627/

Even Sean Kilpatrick who took a different route has done rather well for himself...

He has made 6.1M from his various NBA contracts and has made another 1M+ from G-League and international. At 29 years old, making a million dollars a year playing basketball is not a bad route...hopefully he can play into one or two more NBA contracts with 2-3 year guarantees.

He's played minutes in playoff games when the games were in doubt. By any definition those are meaningful minutes. He's had a small role so far but despite a lot of dnps he sometimes gets real (non garbage time) minutes on a finals team.

I watched all 3 games of the Finals thus far, and Evans has played in 2 of the 3 games. Subbing him at the end of a quarter / half to defend the last play vs. letting a starter pick up a cheap foul. GREAT EXPERIENCE!

Clearly this is snark, lol. That said, it's a bit disingenuous to say that he's playing many meaningful mins.

When Iggy was hurt in the playoffs he was playing behind an undrafted 2nd year guy. Sure, he was late 1st round...i mean to the point where exceptions should be more in line with a 2nd round draftee - with respect to contributions - but still. I think it's a wee bit problematic.

In no way do i think this is overly predictive in terms of what he will accomplish in his GSW career, but it's a bit of an eyebrow raiser.

We can't really count the ages of the guys in front of him if he's not even close to pushing an undrafted guy who's getting more PT than him.

I agree with others it is too early to say. He just came in briefly yesterday. I do believe Steve Kerr told him to go in and get his feet wet, get some shots off because he’s going to need him tomorrow night. I predict he plays 10 minutes and scores at least three points.

I know this is crazy even for Bearcat fanatics but I was totally jacked when He came in at the end of the game!

With Klay tearing his ACL big opportunity for JE3 to get into the rotation next year. Guys are coming back quicker from ACLs but it's unlikely he'd play before the All Star break next year and even when he does I'm sure his minutes will be limited.

They need Evans to be the defensive player they thought he could be on Draft Day. Quinn Cook and the other reserves were getting torched by Fred Van Vleet and Kyle Lowry last night. KD isn't gonna be there one way or another next year. Cousins is gone. And Klay sounds like he's out too.

They're gonna have to go back to building a solid core around Steph and it's going to be a great opportunity for Jacob if he isn't traded.
