Absolute day and night compared to that garbage joke schedule Sad had put together with that loser previous AD. A sham schedule to fluff his record and save people's asses....until it didnt save their asses afterall.

Don't like traveling to North Florida, but I'm okay with it in perspective with the rest of the schedule. Plus, I'm sure we did it for the benefit of both of us to get a home game. Hoping we can have a good year and do something no one expects.

Ladarius "Chunky" Marshall has transferred to Hinds CC.
We had to lose somebody to even up the scholarships.

RE: 2019 Basketball
This year's roster is now online at Southernmiss.com and definitely a few that we haven't heard about (or don't think we heard about). I was thinking the roster limit was 15 but apparently it is 16 as that is what we now have.

https://southernmiss.com/roster.aspx?path=mbball

Newbies that were talked about:
- Denijay Harris, 6-7 RFr Forward (Southwest CC)
- Jeffery Armstrong, 6-0 Fr Guard (Rainsville, AL)
- Angel Smith, 6-5 Fr Guard (Ft Lauderdale, FL)
- Arthur Konontsuk, 6-6 Fr Forwad (Estonio)
- Jay Malone, 6-0 RSo Guard (Southwest CC)
- Hunter Dean, 6-10 Fr Forward (Mandeville, La)
- Auston Leslie, 6-4 Fr Guard (Huntsville, AL)
- Bill Muse Jr, 6-2 RSr Guard (Coastal Carolina transfer) - walk on from what I've overheard
- Isaiah Jones, 6-7 RJr Forward (Connors St JC)

Newbies that we haven't seen mentioned that I know of
- David McCoy, 6-1 Jr Guard (Jones JC) - averaged around 6 points and 2.5 assists per game. Started 23 of 28 games his soph season
- Jerrod Rigby, 5-11 RSr Guard (Southeastern La transfer - can't find any stats of him at SE La. Since he's from St Stanislaus, probably a safe bet he's a friend of the family and a walk on as well

and of the 6 returning players you've got 2 seniors (Harper-Baker and Jacdonmi), 2 juniors (Weatherspoon and Draine) and 2 sophomores (Watson and Stephenson).

Draine and HB's shoulders and legs are going to be tired by the end of the season...

Jay's gonna have his hands 'full' right out of the gate...

it's interesting we basically fired two coaches as they were beginning to build our program back to some semblance of interest and hired a crook w/o oversight and a nobody....

yep....everything is just fine...

Not 100% sure of which ones are the walkons but I would've liked our chances (on paper at least) of having Marshall back instead of Muse, Rigby and/or McCoy. Those 3 newbies (Muse, Rigby, McCoy) combined for about 8 points and a couple assists in their college careers so not much to get excited about on their behalf.

I'm fairly certain that all 3 of those are walk-ons. Only 13 scholarships are available.

RE: 2019 Basketball
My guess on the scholarship players (assuming that we now are eligible for 13 scholarship players) are...

Returnees...
Leonard Harper Baker
Jacdonmi
Draine
Watson
Stephenson

newcomers...
Jones
Malone
Harris
Dean
Leslie
Armstrong
Smith
Konontsuk
