RE: Baseball vs ODU
Eagles break it open...9-1 still batting bot of 4th....USM with "only" 7 hits (all singles), while ODU stinks the place up with errors, hit batsmen and walks.

When the hitting coach was just asked by JC what he attributes the big turn around in the season here recently with the win streak, etc. (or something to that effect), he said getting Blaylock back. Who was it that said Blaylock may save our season? Oh, nvm, that was me.

Ya'll just don't understand how detrimental Storme Cooper was to our entire team. Plus the combo of Blaylock, and Bowen at DH are helping big time. I still say they need to get Lynch out of the lineup. He is now our biggest hole in it.

I think who we’re playing is also affecting things.

I agree about Lynch. If the ball ain’t hit right at him he can’t get it. However, his BA of .250 is almost high as Wallners .268

I think Wallner has far more SOs than anyone on the team. Hes gotta get himself together. Another difference maker that can swing games one way or the other

Here is how i think about it. If we play State again today, I have confidence in everybody in our lineup except Lynch. I still think Guidry is the best ball player on the team, he is starting to come around at the plate and getting rid of the yips at 2nd.

Agreed about Wallner, the dude K's way too much. Scouts notice that, he better plan on coming back next year if he is planning on a big signing bonus because it ain't happening this year.

Already 7-0 USM in the 1st.

C-USA righty with a very low K rate screamed “batting practice!”.

Shepard goes 1.2 IP with 4 Ks and 4 walks. Didn’t give up a hit.

It’s 9-0 USM in the 5th. Another league play bludgeoning.

If I thought Berry and Caillet would put together a halfway decent schedule, I’d totally be for USM going indy in baseball like Miami and Dallas Baptist used to do. But we’d probably just schedule a bunch of OVC schools on their conference bye week.

So. You would be fine with no weekend games?

I’m being about halfway serious. But you could definitely put together a schedule as an indy. Keep in mind that a ton of leagues have an odd number of teams so you bye weekends within conference play. That means teams have to play OOC series in April and May. We had to do this during C-USA 2.0. You could put together a schedule of teams on bye weekends that would be much more competitive than what we see in C-USA.
