Find where I bashed Talley (you wont). Odd that you would make crap up one post after claiming others are doing it

And Im talking about players, not fans.

With both those guys on this roster, we're REALLY stacked on paper. Granted, we probably don't have the same cohesion, and we probably don't pick up some of the young bucks that I think will develop into better players than both Porter and Talley.

I believe Talley would have graduated last year had he not transferred.

And Talley is wasting away on Iowa States bench/doghouse. What a shame for those 2 guys. Porter thought he was going to a National championship contender. He started all season but was pretty much a non factor.

Thank god Mahd and BJ are stand up guys! Represented ODU well! We should all be very proud of this team. Mahd and BJ were great examples to the young guys. True leaders.

Go Monarchs!

I very firmly believe this would have been a worse team with Talley and Porter. Talley just never was that good, and we currently have better players playing his position, and Porter would have been a problem in the locker room. This team would not have been that "special team" with "lots of heart" if Trey was still a part of it.

I like to think the weasel (Musselman) was a snake oil salesman and tricked Trey.

Totally agree on all of that. They are a miserable team to watch with a bunch of guys who just come off as asses. I will add that Musselman is an awful coach. They did not even remotely play to their talent level. Freaking Utah State was better than them, won the conference regular season and tournament, and beat Nevada down the stretch.

In the end, we both ended up in the same place, with a first round exit lol

I have zero issue with Porter leaving. But, if you are going to throw hissy fits and then transfer somewhere else, I might laugh when you fail.

Anyone notice the difference between how Talley is treated than Porter? Hmmm

Seriously? You and others on this board bashed Talley nonstop. The way they are treated says more about you then it does about them.

Seriously? Talley has served like 5 suspensions and been kicked off a team in his college career. Should we write love notes to him and tell him what an amazing representative he is for ODU?

No you grow up and let it go.

Talley has been out of this program for TWO years and yet the same handful of people bring him up. Porter has been out of this program for a year and yet the same people continue to bring him up.

Both graduated from ODU -which makes them alumni- yet you continually bash them and for what?

Not sure if it’s sad or pathetic or both, the obsession some of you have with these guys (especially Porter).

What crap am I making up? Count the number of posts there on the two. Once they left the program it should have decreased, but nope some of you pulled Porter into conversations that had nothing to do with him.

Hell what’s the point of this damn thread?

Pathetic.

You claimed I talked crap about Talley....clearly made up.

Its a message board. Do you expect people to not talk about former players? If it pains you so much, there is an easy way to avoid it.

I can definitely confirm that Giles was not one to bash Talley. We had quite a few debates about his value to our team, and Giles was always in the pro Talley camp.

The difference is we asked Talley to leave. Porter left on his own, leaving his teammates in a bind and a hole in the middle that could have been disastrous. He was an important cog in what was looking to be an outstanding returning cast. Plus that fact that he's such a crying flopper makes him easy to dislike. He screwed the team intentionally, whereas Talley got busted for stuff (allegedly, and hearsay) unrelated to basketball and pushed out.

If you ask me, they both chose to let their team down. At least Porter, if barely, was willing to live up to the standards of being a teammate before heading out of town.
