Well Jimmy is a very good man.

Now if you are talking about presidents, well Obama may have passed him for the worst president since the Civil War, but he's still in the top two.

Grant's tenure was corrupt at best and his orders of genocide against the Native Americans made him the worst President. He was a good General, but he was not a good political leader.

Trump comes next when more than half this country can't stand his lying and vulgar language.

Clinton be number three.

Nixon is up there as one of the worst with Watergate which they are saying Trump is worst than Nixon.

Warren Harding and the Teapot Doom Scandal.

George W. Bush was scandal play. Created the NSA to spy on everybody.

John Tyler

Franklin Pierce

Herbert Hoover

Lyndon Johnson

Obama was not the worst of the presidents. There are more who were more corrupt from both parties that are bad.

No way. Harding takes the top spot, and it's not even close. Teapot Dome.

Spying on the opposition, getting ambassadors killed, getting soldiers killed by announcing withdrawal dates, stirring up racial anomosity, all that makes turning a blind eye to subordinates skimming look not too bad.

And Obama's biggest legacy-for the first time in our history, other than war or the flue pandemic of 1919, life expectancy is declining. Hard to have a worse tenure than creating an atmosphere where Americans are dying sooner. Nobody else has done that.

Buchanan was before the Civil War.

Nixon had some good to go along with Watergate. China, detente, SALT, getting us out of Vietnam.

Johnson is hard to evaluate against the backdrop of the Radical Republicans. Had the Lincoln/Johnson Reconstruction happened, we might have had less backlash against the freedmen. But Johnson couldn't get it done.

Many say Buchanan’s inaction hastened the Civil War. Most agree that Johnson is at or near the bottom.

How many private citizens lives did Teapot Dome affect or even ruin?

Answer- next to none. Directly one person, the cabinet member running the scam, not a private citizen. Indirectly, maybe some folks who missed out on bidding on the scam itself.

zerO? Get out the abacus, the number will be in the solid 7 to 8 figures or more.

I think technically he's still tied with Bush until Friday. Hopefully I'm not jinxing him by posting this a bit prematurely.

Carter already holds the record for longest life after leaving the White House (38 years, 60 days and counting). I think that's a record that could eventually be beaten (it depends on how much longer Carter lives), but I'm not sure if I'll be alive to see it. Somehow, I don't expect Clinton to live into his 90's to challenge that record. And maybe Obama could threaten the record and live into his mid to late 90's, but I'll be in my 90's before that happens.

He's a super nice human being and Rosalynn is even nicer. You do know that he fell and broke his hip yesterday (maybe 2 days ago) while preparing to go Turkey hunting. He's had surgery already and is recovering. Ever the optimist he wanted to know if the state of Georgia would permit him to have extra Turkey stamps next year since he couldn't finish this hunting season.

is easily the only way I can view his tenure....

What most people forget is that when Ford left the White House the Corporate group that had owned the Presidency since LBJ took over when Kennedy was assassinated lost their hold over candidates on their payroll, whether Democrat or Republican. Carter ran into the same obstinate treatment by his party in the House and Senate that Trump ran into with his election. It was downhill from there and never really gained the traction he needed to fulfill his campaign promises. In other words he was stonewalled. The same thing almost happened to Reagan when the RNC made him choose between Ford or Bush as a running mate. Reagan however became untouchable after the failed attempt on his life.

I don't see his presidency as the good or bad. I saw it as being aborted by his own party's hacks.

My wife and I ran into Billy in Atlanta right about the time Billy Beer came out. He was a hoot!

My Dad had a rather eclectic collection of stuff in a small office he had in the basement of our house growing up.

When he passed we were going through some of the stuff and I stumble on a complete six-pack of Billy beer, still in the plastic ring holder.

I thought, damn, this could well be worth something to someone that collects this stuff, intact full sixpack, maybe even the Carter Center or some Museum somewhere.

I go to pick it up and put in the "keep" box and it's feather light.

He had used the old school church key (what we called them) can opener to drain the cans from the bottom so he could drink the beer, save the cans... Just shook my head. 03-lmfao
