Next year’s team
With or without Bankston next season, the roster looks pretty good.
At forward we have:
Maric at 6 foot 10
Wyatt at 6 foot 7
Johnson at 6 foot 8
Besovic at 7 feet (center)
Monyyong at 6 foot 11

At Guards we have:
Nowell 5 foot 8
Lottie 6 foot 1
Pippins 6 feet
Stulic 6 foot 6

Still have 3 or 4 scholarships to give depending on Bankston.

Is there any solid evidence that he is leaving?

I have heard nothing about Bankston not being back. I'm actually more worried that Nikola may decide to go back to Europe to earn some money.

He is a long way from home, but I doubt he is ready to be a pro yet.

One thing DW has to find is a rebounder. Neither Bankston nor Maric were very tough on the boards. Johnson might develop into a good one, but that definitely is a cause for concern.

I will stick my neck out and predict a 50% increase in wins next season. That is not saying much, but it would be back to respectability.

I was hoping for 15 this year which would have been slightly more than 100% over the year before. Probably too much to expect. I would be satisfied with 15 next year. It does depend on our OOC schedule. I'd like to get to .500 in conference, but I don't know how realistic that is until I actually see who is on the final roster.

Based on who we assume is coming back, I don't think the roster will be a problem. I think the talent is there, and DW should have his system/style established. The only risk is if his style is the same as Flanigan's.

7-0, 6-11, 6-10. I do not recall us ever having that many players that tall. It will be a real shame if DW does not know how to use them.

RE: Next year’s team
I think we have some talent on this roster that is potentially outstanding, even after the defections. If Nowell can calm down just a little and fully accept the point guard role, he could be one of the best (if not the best) we have ever had. Likewise with Maric among our big men. There is the 1 and the 5, and those usually are the two hardest positions to fill adequately.

In between them plug in Lottie, Hadzic, Johnson and Wyatt. If Bankston is still here, we know what he can do, and his upside is scary. And Pippins is a solid, versatile, veteran leader. Not all of those will be outstanding, but some of them probably will, and probably all of them will be contributors. And we have lots of size headed our way. IF Walker can coach, this team has a lot of potential. And with a team of his own players, I expect DW to do better next season. I am not a Pollyanna, but I do think we will do better next season.

Hadzig is gone. Hopefully, no one else leaves.

Last game of the season Bankston started and played 2 minutes then he was pulled from the game and he rode the bench the rest of the game. There was a reason for that. DW was trying to send him a message.

RE: Next year’s team
I thought it was odd he waited until the last game of the year to send a message. Should have been sent from day 1. Kris is a talent but he sulks a lot when he’s not in the game
